I just did a Mapquest search on my old neighborhood that I haven't seen in over 30 years. Rockville, Md. (Who comes up with, "Rockville?" The Flinstones? :D )

Ennyway...

So I Mapquest my old neighborhood. I do a "Start" and "End" destination search for the Blimpies that I think I rode my bike to with friends (on Wisconsin Ave?) It was only 9 miles away, but to me, it seemed like a lot longer (I was only about 13.) Maybe 18 miles R/T is a lot, tho. But those Blimpies were good...

I have a few stories about those trips, but I won't tell. Too weird (funky head shops in the area...)

Can't imagine my folks letting me do that ride... :D

Haha, I live right around the Bethesda/Rockville, MD area. How long ago did you live here? It's a nice area, but it's really changing a lot and very quickly. Do you ever come back around? It's nice to hear from somebody from around this area on here.

Just figured out I rode about a 1 1/4 miles to elementary school.

Boy, that old trek sure looks small today. I remember the nearby park going on "forever..."

I remember riding around a square mile (4 miles) as a young kid. It seemed like a great adventure then. Today, most parents wouldn't let young kids go that far on their own. And of course there were no helmets then.
