Is it still a good fork, i mean for $65 i may want to get one just because it sound nice. I have been looking at some sites and they say that it is very rigid. I have an old trek that could use this fork. (it has no fork so i cant ride it!! :)

You need to pay attention to the steerer length. They are pretty short on these.

Yea I just went and looked, one is around 7 inches and one is around 8, thats not really short. And I also noticed that they were taken off of complete bikes.

I guess that is not to short. They are to short for my bike though or I would by one. It also doesn't say what color they are which doesn't matter to some people but it does a little to me.
Thanks...

I bought a 2000 sxr recently on closeout for $110. I only rode it about 500 miles when the preload and rebound both broke. I think it was because the internals went unused for so long that rubber seals must have hardened or whatever. Manitou did the repair for free and I am happy now, but make sure you save your receipt and send in your warranty card!!! If I were to buy a fork now Id get a 2002 manitou six deluxe from supergo at $130. This fork is nearly identical to the sxr, but is the latest design and it hasn't been sitting around getting old.

Actually that fork is $119 at supergo right now and I may just get one.

I can't stand Manitou. I also owned one of these forks (a '99), it froze one year - rebuilt it - the next year I cracked the brake arch. They refused to honour the warranty, it had nothing to do with the cause of failure (there wasn't one) - they had altered their warranty policy. This was through a friends bike shop and we all stopped buying Manitou products. I also had the triple clamp version of this fork, it was great while it worked. I big poo on Manitou!
