It is a front road hub I'm using on my fixed Calfee Luna. It is a little loose. I don't know how to adjust it. I don't see anything on Phil's site. I'm a competent bike mech with lots of tools. Can anybody help?

Have you tried emailing Phil and asking? They've always gotten back to me when queried.

...or post in the Bicycle Mechanics forum. Singlespeed & Fixed Gear forumites are good people, but we tend not to know our stuff like the mechanics do.

Sounds like you might have an earlier version that has the bearing cartridges "lock tited" in the hub body? Can you tell if the "play" is coming from the bearings?
If so- sounds like you need to replace the bearings... You'll need to open a bottle of California wine. Knock out the axle (and cartridges) with a soft faced mallet (wood, plastic or raw hide). The cartidges should come out as well. To remove the bearings from the axle/pop the ends off- you'll need to use a small, hooked piece of steel (spoke head) hooked onto the alxe end (from the inside)... And use a "discarded" piece of steel (old quick release or another long, thin piece of stock) to knock on the spoke head from the opposite direction. This should free the axle of the end cap. the bearing cartridge should come off easy from there. Repeat other side. clean everything thoroughly. Install new cartridges with red lock tite and press back together. Now that the wine has breathed a bit- have a drink.
I'm not good at explaining these things, but I hope this helps. If not- contact Brent at Phil Wood.

Thanks for the instructions. I need to check the wheel for play, evidently a certain amount is normal but yes, if too much then I need to change the bearings. I'll keep ya'll posted. Phil Wood did respond in like an hour or so to my email 'bout it. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
