Introductions - Sokool the Meteorologist

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
A little about me, lets see... I've just graduated college and plan on a trip to the San Francisco area from Miami. I spent five years in college studying Meteorology,Math, and Computer Science. I'm turning down a well paying job to go on this trip. It isn't really a trip, more like a move for me. I'm leaving the city of Miami for good to start a new life somewhere else. As mentioned on a earlier post, I have little money, but I'm going to do this trip anyway.
:) Welcome, Sokool! Congrats on your recent graduation. With a degree like yours, you needn't worry about finding a well-paying job wherever you go.
I applaud your adventurous spirit. Now is a great time to make a move. The older you get, the more baggage you have, good or bad. It's just harder to do, more details, etc, etc.
I made a big geographical move out of nursing school, and though it was hard sometimes, I've never regretted it. The people you meet and the experience you gain are priceless.
Go for it, and good luck!

Thanks Marys for the encouragement. I figured if I didn't take this "trip", I would get stuck in the work routine and everytime I wanted to take a vacation, I would say "Just work for a little more, than you can go on a vacation." I'm exhausted after doing three degrees. I never thought I would finish school. I'll tell you one thing, I'm never going back to school! Suprise to say, but I didn't learn much in school. I think I will do most of my learning outside of school for now on.

Agreed. I'd have to say that my out of school experiences have been just as valuble of an education as college was. I think we make a choice whether or not we continue learning in live. Some people stop learning before the college age and some never stop.
My motto is, Enjoy it (life) while you got it.

Hello from Boca. Many congrats on your college completion and the direction you've chosen. You'll probably never going to be so free to take a journey like this as you are right now. Will you be traveling up the west coast equivalent of A1A to get out of Florida? Traffic is probably lighter on the west coast. It's so hard to find a place to do open riding down here on the east coast. I hope you find a suitable partner or partners to ride at least part of the way with you. You've come to the right place to find one.
