yet more mt. bike nonsense. the weekend is here, I got paid, and my dad left me a message that he knows someone who is selling a bike thats in almost brand new shape and at a price that seems like "not" buying it would be stupid, but.....

Its a 2000 Gary Fisher x-caliber. (hardtail)
apperantly its got all kinds of bontrager stuff on it and front and back hayes disks. A manitou 100mm fork and xt running gear, and yada, yada, yada.

Besides the hayes (dont care for 'em)

Whats the public opinion on this bike, I have till sunday to answer (buy). Please critisize or praise the bike as you will, I just need some input.

Tell me what ya know.
Thanks.

I've never ridden an x-caliber but i bought a GF Big Sur(also hardtail) recently and can't say enough good about it .It rides so much better than my GT and my inlaws Trek. Anyway just go ride it.Make sure it fits you.

Also you can look at mtbreview.com for reviews of this bike.

the x-caliber is a great bike.... the question is, how much does he want for it? If you don't like Hayes, you can certainly find someone to sell them to that does.
