What size of panniers do you use for your touring for both front and rear panniers? I have to buy them so I wanted to grasp some ideas of what other experts use in their touring. Thanks.

I only used front panniers on my recent 3-month tour:

As for size ... hmmmm. Not sure, but they weren't really small - probably 40 for the pair.

i have ortlieb, 40L for the rear and 25L for the front.

This is for two persons, 10 days with hotel accomodation only (5 kg each person, tools)

extra water do you expect to be hauling?
many options....credit card touring with just a h-bar bag. light camping with just
front or rear panniers, loaded tour with front and rear. or you could go with just
a trailer. or a combination of trailer and bags.
trailers have many advantages, but they're a real paininthebutt to take on the
flight. i sold my bob and front/rear c'dale panniers and h-bar bag after my
australia tour to avoid the hassle of packing for the flight.

full camping supplies, cook stove, tools...etc etc for two people A pair of Arkel TT-84s and a pair of GT30s. And we still have some room left over for treasures found along the way. If I'm going it alone a pair of gt58 works well.

Jandd Expedition Rear, that expand to 5600 cubic inches...or 3000 cubic inches with the tops tucked inside the main bag. Use them for commuting and hauling all my clothes and stuff on a daily basis. Worked well on my tour in Monument Valley for 3 weeks last year.
