:D So I stopped by the LBS over lunch to drop off my SS MTB frame to have the headset installed and they said my wheel parts had come in and they were in the process of building them. So tomorrow I get to pick up my new wheels and get the junk that is on there off. My Marin came stock with Forumal Xero Lite XR-3s which for lack of a better word suck for a commuter I found out. The front is 16 spoke and the rear is 20. I am 227 Lbs and those wheels my fat butt and a commute don't add up to wheels that stay true very long, I average the front needing tured every 2 months (probably more) and the rear every 2.5 months or so.

On to the future. I got Shimano 105 hubs laced 32 spoke 3X to Salsa Delgado X rims. Rear has 14 ga spokes and the front will have 14/15/14 butted spokes. Can't wait. :D

I'll be interested to hear what you think of that wheelset. I'm about the same weight as you and have been thinking about a new set of wheels for the commuter this summer. The Salsa Delgado X rims are high on my list, but I haven't really heard that many reviews of them.

Keep us posted... :D

Will do and I will post photos of the wheels tomorrow both on and off the bike. Now where is that USPS guy with my panniers? :D

Well I got them on today and a must say I am VERY happy. This wheel set makes the bike feel lighter, I am not sure if the new set is really any lighter than the old set but they feel lighter. The other thing they do is smooth the ride out. Why would anyone want low spoke count wheels? I guess in racing for the aero advantage? Money well spent IMO.

Good to hear! Will definitely be considering a set in the next month or two...
