I have a 2000 Specialized Enduro that came with a Manitou XC LT. In the past I had the bike serviced at the LBS where I purchased it but since I moved far from that shop I decided to start doing all the work myself. The only problem I am having is figuring out how I am supposed to lube my fork. It has these tiny lube points with stickers that say micro lube. It looks like there is some kind of tool that can be used to force oil into them. Can anybody tell me what I need to do to take care of this fork? I stopped by the LBS today and tried explaining this to him but the guy had no clue. He knew nothing about Manitou forksand asked me if they were air valves. If anybody could point me to the Manitou web site that would also help, I did a search on dogpile.com and couldn't even find the manitou web site.
thanks

Hey, I have a Manitou Magnum R, it has the micro lube. The manitou site is www.answerproduct.com U need a tool that goes onto the lube. Go to pricepoint.com and you will see it there.

Yep, go to http://pricepoint.com/ForkAccessories.html#1124 and you'll find the gun and the grease, they are seperate so make sure to order them both.

Hey, that was alot cheaper than I had imagined. The first price I saw on that page was the $75 Manitou anti-bob system and thought that was it for a brief instant.

Now that my Micro Lube pump and grease has arrived in the mail, How do I use the stuff? I stick the point of the pump into the micro lube point on the fork, push down with all my might, pump a bit of grease and it all squeezes out from between the grease gun and the lube point.

You will need to hold the grease gun fairly tight into the port, especially if there's already lots of grease in the fork already.
However, if you haven't done so yet, I'd suggest removing the lowers and cleaning the old, excess grease out (check the Answer.com/Manitou website for a manual). While you've got it disassembled you can also make sure the micro lube ports are open, i.e. not clogged with gunk. Reassemble.
Now give 8 to 12 squirts of grease into each port. It should go in easily. Don't over-do it or you'll have a mess.
