When you wish upon a star
Dreams will take you very far, yeah
When you wish upon a dream
Life ain?t always what it seems, oh yeah
Once you see your light so clear
In the sky so very dear.

Do you rememba! the 21st night of septembaaaa?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away.

Oh god i LOVE funk!

Love playing the stuff too!

Tower of Power? Don't know about modern funk(if there is such a thing). To me, the best funk is stuck in the 60's and 70's for the most part. Maybe a little into the 80's. That reminds me, I need to snag some more GAP Band. I like James Brown, Parliament/Funkadelic/George Clinton, B.T. Express, The Jimmy Castor Bunch, Bobby Byrd, The O'Jays, Rufus, Roger/Zapp, Rick James, Kool & the Gang, The Commodores, The Isley Brothers, etc. I've left out many other great artists.... Funk is awesome! Very therapeutic music, IMO. Anybody else see that documentary about the Funk Brothers? It's been on HBO(I think) a few times. They played(uncredited) for everybody who was anybody in the Motown scene back in the day.

I saw the Funk Brothers documentary. It was great, kind of sad, but great...
Ben Harper did a great job with Marvin Gaye's material.

My funk faves are (INPO):

PFunk/Clinton/Bootsy
Cymande
the Meters
Black Byrds
Sly & the Fam
the Bar-Kays
... and of course, Mr. Brown

for a modern twist on funk, I like the Breakestra
