seems that you fix one problem only to develope another! - every revolution of the crank (only when riding) makes a noise halfway between a click and a clunk - wot is this and how can i fix it. i'm reluctant to take it down the local bikeshop cos i suspect them of being "polite cowboys" and having little knowledge of bike mechanics im a bit of a target!! any help would be much appreciated, from an enthusiastic beginner!

I'm having the same problem. Mine is more of just a click though, and only happens when the right crank is at the forward-most position.

Also, mine's throwing my chain off of my smallest chainring into the bike, I can't quiet figure it all out.

My first guess would be that your cranks are not as tight as they should be. Personally I would remove them, double check the bottom bracket, then reinstall the cranks to spec.

Your pedal might be needing some grease in it. I had this trouble for ages last year and after fitting a new bb, refitting the cranks and cleaning everything to within an inch of it's life I discovered that my drive side pedal had run dry and was creaking at about the one o'clock posistion.

Swap pedals out, if not BB is shot.

I Have The Sort Of Same Problum, I Fixed It Before But I Want To Know What It Is. sumtimes my crank goes click everytime it goes round, and also, in gear 7of1 it keeps skipping, is that derailurs or crank? i hope derailurs cuz its cheaper to fix them than to take my crank a'part

If your chain is slipping in a gear, your chain and cassette is going to have to be replaced. Your drivetrain is worn.
