I read about this in Spud's profile. Sounds interesting?
Can anybody describe what this is? Pictures?
EDIT: Did a little search. Found these. :D

Alltheway,
My velomobile is made from 4 throw away bicycle frames. I use a lot of duct tape, garbage can lids and plastic "for sale signs". It weighs over 150 lbs and is very slow up any hill. Very warm in winter and keeps me dry in rain.
Here is a web site with my favorite velomobile rider Joe. You will like his velomobiles.

You can also find a lot of good information on:

and of course my site:

Enjoy!
I'll throw my two cents in if anyone wants info about the aerorider. I should have mine by the end of the week if it makes it thru customs without any problems.
Its been about a four month construction wait so to say that I'm a little anxious for final delivery is an understatement!!

Truly a spectacle to behold. Those garage/assembly area pics are crazy.

That is one sweet velo! Did you get the NiMH battery? How much was the total cost? How much was shipping? What colour did you get?

I am fortunate in that I have a limitless supply of Lithium Ion batteries where I work, the plan is to connect them together, not as perfect as NiMH but the price is right.
Cost wise...it was 5800 euros...the exchange rate was pretty brutal...and the final shipping remains to be seen but as the crate is 9.5feet long, it goes into a higher rate...something in the $2000 neighborhood.
I got white, partially becuase I ran out of money...:)) and as I am selling advertising space, i didn't want a color to conflict with any logos. After its paid for, I'm probably going to get it repainted locally.
wow, 5800 euros before shipping!!! I hope you can find people who will buy advertising space! Are you going to ditch your car completely now (Assuming you had one to begin with)?

Well, I'm not putting it up on blocks just yet...still has some value hauling the kids to rides but I'm pretty much ditching it for the bike...until winter anyway...I don't think the cold will be a problem, but we get some good ice storms in St Louis during the winter...and I don't want someone sliding into me.

Heh, I'd be more worried about people not being able to see you when it's snowing (with the stock white colour and all). Perhaps a nice fire engine red would suit your new velo? ;)

I'm thinking something in neon

Maybe a neon green and black checkerboard pattern.

Well...it wasn't quite a week...but after two days in customs the aerorider arrived. Total production / delivery time was a shade under four months.
A co-worker of mine picked it up and arranged the shipping. They reinforced the crate and pretty much wrapped the vehicle in bubble-wrap. According to them had it shipped as it was originally packed, it probably wouldn't have made it damage free. As it was, there was some damage to the
windshield wiper...I don't like the look of the duct tape but it works until the replacement part can arrive.
I was a little disapointed at the lack of documentation and was left pretty much to figure out the controls and operation on the move. While some would consider that part of the fun, I still have a mystery switch that I have no idea what it does.
Initial impressions are that the workmanship on the vehicle is excellent. Its not as difficult to pedal up to speed as what you would think after reading some of the velo boards. On a level route, getting the vehicle started is a pretty easy effort. Its not a hill climber, but a little juice gets you over the hill very well. I made a short run to this morning...lots of curious honks and a couple thumbs up from two local squad cars.
Tonight is the vehicles first commute home...wish me luck.
Heh, awesome. If I ever win the lottery......
