All right, I need help. I have an old Masi that was given to me that i am trying to identify. It has been repainted very poorly making it hard to read the numbers on the bottom bracket, but here is what I know: There is a cutout "M" in the bb and either 1159 over the "M" (I know it should be M59 but it sure looks like 1159) there is a very faint *GF next the the "M" cutout, but oriented 180 degrees ("upside down to the "M" cutout) The bike has Mavic catitlever brakes front and back and the rest of the bike is campy NR. The fork is complety crome and there are campy dropouts front and back. I was told by the guy who gave it to me that it was a Gran Criterium, but I have my doubts. Any Guidence would be gratly appreciated. My wife wants it to go out with the trash.
I used to have a Masi GC with cantilevers. I got it second hand and didn't know if the cantilevers were original or added on later. I set it up as a cyclocross rig. Eventually I sold it. I never kept track of serial numbers.

The +GF+ stands for Georg Fischer, the Swiss company that made the Bottom Bracket shells for Masi, Cinelli and others. Generally this would indicate that the bike is a Masi Special made in Italy. Post some photos and you can expect somebody to identify it for sure.

Some of the early CA Masi GCs used that shell as well (probably not many).
