This is too much.....I have way too much time on my hands to discover these two websites, but I was wondering why one of these online panhandlers seems to be far more successful than the other....Moral suasion? Guilt? Amusement? I guess I need a second opinion....

Holy crap! People gave that much to a guy that is threatening to eat a rabbit?

Maybe I should start a send Lauren to grad school fund. It's not like I'll blow it on a car or something, just an 8x10 bedroom and some ramen :).

Just to be clear, I am only joking and NOT asking for money.

Shoot. Id' give lauren money before I'd give either of these guys anything.

When homeless people ask me for money I can look them in the eye and say no. I say if they are truly hungry I will buy them a meal, but I won't give them cash. I've had no takers.

As for why one guy gets more, I don't know. netbum seems more honest (the very bottom of the page), maybe that's why no one is sending him money.

Eat the rabbit, see if I care. I'd donate to Lauren too, probably without asking her to do anything in return. He's bluffing about the rabbit.

The original is always the best!

I remember years ago... late 80's early 90's, in the days before PayPal, there was this guy who had a site where he 'washed' the inside of your monitor screen (Kind of like the bums do with your car windshield in the city) with a series of images then asked you to send him a buck or two

Aren't rabbits supposed to be good eating?

Are we denying this poor man a fine meal by sending him money?

:D

Rabbit is low cholesterol, low fat, and in general one of the healthiest meats around. I have been wanting to try it for a while.

So, what's stopping you....there are plenty out on the road, dead, and some already skinned and gutted.

Chapel Hill is too urban, and wild rabbits are notorious for having tapeworms.

Harris Teeter has frozen rabbit, but it's kind of expensive (I am not sure of the exact price). Maybe I'll get a rabbit for graduation :D.

You can tell he would never eat the rabbit and that it's just a pet, and he is probably wanting $50 000 because he's in debt. He has already made $18 000+, who would actually donate? As for the other, he is actually honest; as it says at the bottom of the page that he is just in debt to a woman. And as Expatriate said, go ahead "eat" the damn rabbit, see if I care.
