Hi, all!

I tore down my old Flandria commuter bike down to the frame last night. The winter salt and slush really did a number on it, ft derailler froze solid and all the other stuff on it just took a beating.

I want to rebuild it as an antique-looking fixie "scorcher". I love the looks of the A.N.T. bikes like the Major Taylor and the Ibis (and of course Gaansari) Scorchers.

Got some stuff for it already. A rusty old North Road h/bar I would paint black and install upside down, 27 x 1
3/8 knobbies but they're gumwall and I would like to "magic marker" them black, high-flange hubs I painted black already and I might paint the rims black, even the braking surface (it I go brakeless), a Brooks Conquest and a B72 saddle but of course they're on other bikes, and original Raleigh h/bar grips but cork or leather might look better. Don't know if I should keep the original fork or not.

Here's a pic of the bike. I'm really sick of the crappy orange and I'm thinking of a light-medium avacado (which I have at work) or semi-gloss black, but I don't know about that since I already have two black bikes. Also I have an old cottered steel crank I might use or this Sugino VT. Anybody have any other ideas? I'm trying to keep purchases down to a minimum so as not to encounter the wrath of the wife!
