Bicycle Mechanics - Park TS-8

I'm thinking of getting this vs. the Minoura workman pro, but I can't find any reviews on the TS-8 so I thought I'd ask here. Anybody have experience with the TS-8 (or preferably both of these stands)?

Just from the photos I've seen, it looks like it's much more study than the Workman. How would I go about centering a wheel on this or would I pretty much also need to get a dishing tool?

I have the Minoura and it works fine...but I don't build wheels for a living. I got it cheap- $20- from a guy I work with so that made my decision for me.

If im not mistaken the TS-8 is almost the same as the TS7. The TS7 is overpriced crap, i hated mine. It has no ability to make fine adjustements on the indicator and only trues one side @ a time. Dishing is done by flipping the wheel over. THe minoura is far better, it allows truing on BOTH sides and is very accurate. You still want a dishing tool though. The only complaint i have is that it is very unsturdy so you have to be a bit careful, and the way you spread the mounts to put the wheel on is kind of cheesy, they say you cant use quick release on it but i do anyways, just very lightly. YOur best bet is the Performance bike Spin doctor, which is literally the same as the minoura with a different logo

Have you ever used the alignment tool for the Spin Doctor? I've been trying to figure that one out. Is it just for calibrating your alignment on the stand?

I'll probably go with the Spin Doctor or Minoura's equivalent. Just checking through my options before the paycheck arrives...

I ment to buy that tool, thankyou for reminding me. The spin doctor has a sort of "centering" system out there, but you have to set it up. The alignment tool is used to make sure its perfectly centered.
