Alright im having a problem here. I have about 300 dollars and I want to spend it, however i have two things i am considering.
A Salsa Bandito frame
A park TS-2 truing stand
I've been building many wheels lately (getting really into it), friends pay me a smaller fee to true their wheels and build them and its been a small source of income but nice. I enjoy it very much, but the spin doctor im using is driving me nuts its so flimsy!!! The TS-2 is just awsome, ive used the one at my shop and it was just amazing, so sturdy, virile and easy to use.
But the frames really nice! And a friend will sell his for 280, things things scandium, super light. THe right size and looks like it has not even been used. My current frame is nice, its about 4 lbs, and i like it but ive never used a higher end frame and i would like to.
So where would my money be better spent? Im thinking that if i went for the TS-2, well I would in a sense make money off it because I can true wheels a bit faster with it, and that gives me a small income which eventually would allow me to get a frame. But the other side says no no go for this frame its really nice. HELP please :(

aaah screw the frame. I recently learned that would mean i need a new headset, seatpost and front derailleur. way more than its worth. Im going for a schwinn homegrown

Invest it in a Roth IRA. Or get the trueing stand.

get the truing stand. it'll make money opposed to the frame. i started shaping surfboards a few years ago in my garage just for myself and a friend or two. before i knew it i had lots of people wanting boards.
do all your friends wheels and before you know it you'll have a depth of experience and a reputation as a quality craftsman.seriously.

well i bid on the frame before i read that. BUt i only stuck in 100. If i lose, which is possible, i will buy the stand
if not. I will still have enough very soon. Regardless its my goal, i will the proud owner of a ts-2 within hmmmm.....4 months
The TS-2 is only $180. Pop a 20% off performance coupon plus team points, you might get it for less than $150.

well i can get it for 150 on ebay. +25 to ship. Its in a sellers store. THe only thing i dont like is, you spend and get this great stand. But then they want another 50 bucks to get the centering tool!

No i mean it though, the spin doctor is horribly weak. you cant even clamp a QR, but its the only way to keep the wheel sturdy. Although I dont care and do it anyways just very lightly.
Performance has a centering tool for 10 bucks. It's basically a T-shaped piece of metal, I'm sure you can use it on the park stand as well.

I dont know, i will ask my shop. THey have the TS-2 and the centering tool. They let me use their stand when im there and i must say, I can see why it costs what it does. Its 200 dollars faster than the spin doctor

Try to sell your spin doctor, to try and recoup some of the purchasing cost. That will make the park that much cheaper, if you go the park truing route.
I was going to buy the spin doctor stand from you... Hehe...

Alright well ive decided all, i bid on the frame and thers 1.5 hours left. If it happens that i win, i wont loose a huge deal and will likely have enough for the TS-2 shortly. Im gonna auction off my spin doctor on ebay or probably on this forum if somebody wants it. If i win this frame i will sell of my current+the headset because its a zero stack and wont do any damn good because these companies want to complicate life for us all.
