Here a question... could i use kool stop cartridge pads in the cartidges that came with my XT v-brakes? In other words, is the size of cartridges standard, or does it vary form manufacturer to manufacturer?

I'm pretty sure they are a standard size - The SRAM 9.0's I fitted came with koolstops as standard and they look the same as other cartridges.

I use replacement V-Brake cartitrdges from Kool-stop in my XTR V-brakes. I would assume they are standard size, although I know companies like Aztec label their brake pads for XT or XTR, etc.
