Friday’s weather prediction of sunny-and-60 had my heart a flitter with thoughts of cycling. The boss could see I was distracted and dismissed me early! After changing, loading, picking up my stoker and driving just out of the ‘burbs we were pedaling through bucolic Baltimore County by 4:30 P.M.

Just one of those beautiful afternoons that makes you glad to be alive. We stopped to take photos of a mother and calf – bovine – but of and unknown type (to me) and odd-looking. We also found some friendly horses. Has anyone else noticed that horses love bicycles???? A lot of horses like to run along the fence line as we ride by. These horses walked over to see us as we took photos of the cows from across the road.

Maybe some more agriculturally astute forum readers can identify the cows….

Looks like a lovely ride. THey look like what we call Highland cattle over here. VEry long hair and large horns. Generaly redy brown in colour and quite short. They are very popular with small block holders. The bulls are good for mating over first calving cows of other breeds as they produce a small calf.
Cheers

Udderly divine photos! That is a brown cow and we bet the little one's having some chocolate milk!
Yes, tandeming is more than stomping on those pedals!

Those are more commonly refered to as brown cows...as in "How now..." :D

Sorry I couldn't resist. This weekend looks to be good for us here in da South. I am looking forward to seeing multi-breed cattle gnawing on the new grass. Our horses are reaching over for that which is greener on the other side stuff right now.
