Does anyone know what size clamp on derailleur would go on a new steel Lemond frame? I think it might be a traditional geometry seat tube but I'm not sure...I don't know whether to buy a 28.6 or 32 mm size. :(
*hope this question isn't too stupid*
Can't answer your question but it is easily measured with a ruler. Place something, a book, a tablet, something stiff against one side of the seat tube and measure it with a regular ruler. It will either be a 1 1/8th or a 1 1/4" or even a 1 3/8th. Tell whoever you will be ordering from the size in inches and they will give you the correct MM size.
...and there is no such thing around here as a stupid question. Welcome to the forums.

I'm making an educated guess here:
My aluminum frame uses a 1 1/4"....so I imagine your steel frame would use a 1 1/8".
