Can someone recommend a place to buy bearings. Are there significant differences between brands? Any recommendation on a brand? Will be repacking my hubs for the first time. Thanks!

The two places mentioned do not sell 1000 grade bearings. Anyone know of any retailer that sells grade 1000 ball bearings?

According to Harris Cyclery (i.e. Sheldon Brown) ...
Bearing Balls
We carry grade 25 bearing balls in the popular bicycle sizes. Grade 25 is the highest quality commercially available, as used in Campagnolo Record and Shimano Dura Ace parts:

You can try: Boca Bearings (http://www.bocabearings.com/)
I've bought from them before. Good selection, good prices, fast turnaround and free shipping.

MSC Tools and Grainger supply. They sell the stuff that runs in industrial machines, so bikes are easy.

From the Boca Bearings Site:

Would you pick these?:
52100 Chrome Steel: Contains chromium and has excellent surface quality and high load capability due to thorough hardening. 52100 Chrome Steel is a universal material for many applications.
