I'm looking at purchasing a 1992 Calfee frame(at the time they were Carbonframes and partnering with Lemond in building Carbon Fiber bikes). It is apparently the same frame as the Tetra that they are making today. Frame is in good condition, I just have no idea of what it would be worth - any insight would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,

John

They are very nice frames. If the angles and lenghts accomodate you and the budget accomodates you, buy it. Take note it may have the "webbing" on the lugs that allows for some rigging for a pump in many cases if you use the trusty Zefal HP pumps.

Also may want to call Calfee, to see if warranty will still be valid. Not that anything can happen but it can be a plus.

Check over the frame carefully. Many people over the internet sell people cracked carbon frames that were not warrantied and they always find suckers that will buy them. I can talk as I had already had 2 carbon frames sent here by people whom purchase from individuals online with cracks asking me if I can help them. Sadly I was not the seller, manufacturer or police.

I've been looking for a Greg Lemond type bike like the one he used in 1991. Indeed by Carbonframes (now Calfee) but like Xavier mentioned, the sellers are not too honest when confronted by questions regarding the condition of the frames.
