crashed my bike yesterday, screwed my handlebars. upside is i just got some nitto moustache bars to put on the bike. I'll have pictures of the moustache bars after I wrap them tomorrow.

Ouch. Are you OK Alexi?
What happened?
A dooring, perhaps?

i think i see a bit of finger in the crook of that bend.
no not a dooring, though i got doored today going 0mph in front of my work. Stoped at the sidewalk, was about to get off my bike when some cab pulled up and some lady in the back seat opened the door into me, me and my fricking stationary bike.
i was talking over my shoulder to my girlfriend, handless of course and just got hit by a gust of wind, no real damage, my wrist is a bit sore.
Wunder, steel also would not have bent so much, the fall was exceptionaly minor. i also would be less nervous about bending steel back and riding it on it.
edit: where the hell did the post from wunder go?

I felt bad since I didn't know the circumstances of the crash and I was being a weiner about bar materials.
I thought I was quick in deleting it...but obviously you were quicker!
Hope your wrist feels better.

Holy hell! That's really bent. Glad you were'nt hurt badly.
what kind of bullhorns were those? just so we know to avoid them...
they were the nashbar ones
Just about any of the bullhorns out there are going to do that if they get whacked hard enough. I think the Nashbar's are made by Syntace.
You would probably crack steel bars by bending them back that much too. Once a tube gets crimped, forget bending it back.

Breaking stuff is always the best excuse to get some new, cooler stuff, and not feel guilty about it.
good thing the frame didn't get hurt.
here are some pics of the bars after i bent them back into "shape". Not too much damage sustained.
and here are some pics of the new bars wraped. I went with soma bartape, the adhesive strip on the back kept comming of which really sucked, but the local pusher only had cinelli in yellow.

What strikes me is that you have what seems like a very messy room, yet you have purchased a new seemingly unused dust pan, which is now at the bottom of a pile of stuff. I'm going to chalk the purchase up to wishful thinking, or maybe an impulse buy.

What bars? And what is this wrap that you speak of? I only see a bike with a stem and a brake lever hovering out in mid-air. :)

And the judge just wasn't going to look at the stack of 8x10 colour photographs with the circles and arrows, and the paragraph on the back of each one, explaining what each one was.....
Lesson 1--be wary of the background
(where are the smileys with the beer mugs when you need them)

Judge? Photos?
I don't understand the lesson...

if the bars were stronger you mighta broke something like the frame. your bike has a crumple zone. i'd consider it lucky.

someone will always look past or ignore the foreground, the subject of the picture, and observe and comment on the background that wasn't the reason for the picture---man it's late---
Alices Restaurant was the 8x10s and the judge
need gone, real real gone smiley...

Wow, an on-point Alice's Restaraunt allusion. Nicely played. I'm sorry I didn't get it.
