The UFC voting is up for round 4. Vote here (http://raceface.com/ufc). Joe Perizzo did a sick backflip off a tree, but I'll leave the critiquing to Maelstrom

Joe - definate skill there. Lots of trials in all his moves. Backflip is supper fast. Thats unreal. He could probably backflip a curb. Attempted front flip, impressive, thats only been landed by one rider so far and a huge drop to semi flat...
Derek - typical a-line kid. Lots of good air. Most of the stuff in the vid I recognize. The wallride he does at the start is from a movie as is the big laddar drops. Hucking jumper :)
Jonas - finally someone who can handle jumps hucks and big ole lines. This guy can actually ride. Figures he is in this round, if he was in the second round we might have been able to get a good final. This guy is freeriding...
Steve - Well as usual race face does a good job of putting all the best riders in one round. Steve is a good rider, this vid didn't show to much but at least he had some dh, hucking and jumping and some tweaking.
gonna have to hold off. For me it is between trials boy and dh boy. Both have everything I like and generally I vote for dhiller (trials stop and go annoys me when you can flow)

jonas had some good air, but lacked style. my top two were steve and joe

Style is over rated in today's terms, none of these big trickster can actually ride a really technical trail.

Like skiers who only ride rails....its becomnig a joke.
whos the one who knows Joe here?
that would be me, i just got back for riding with him... hes got definate skills... kind of a trials/ dirtjumping hybrid, its super cool to watch his bike control.
I think it's hilarious whan Joe bunny hops the car, cracks the windscreen and just says, "Oh *****". Also DJP1 did he make that front flip or get close to landing it?

Too bad hes against 2 of the better riders from the whole comp.
yeah, but if trend stays true, he should get a fair amount of votes
Maelstrom

Why...the trend so far has gone away from skilled riders and towards bighit riders. Steve would win. If the skilled riders were winning it would be a better comp than it has been

indeed. and who was the other guy who pulled off the front flip?

no one I remember to be honest. I would have to go through my movies to find it.

Just made this realization on another board I frequent...It was a discussion about "whats wrong with me, these vids suck" This is what I just realized as I was typing out my complaint about why this comp sucks.
Me too. And being bored at work I spent a lot of time thinking of why. It has to be progression. It doesn't feel like we are going anywhere. Some mild to impressive tricks at times. Lots of dirtjumps with tricks that, at this point it seems, every kid can do, especially if they migrate from bmx. No one really riding a trail until this round (thank god) and without trails whats the point of the mtbike. Guys aren't going any bigger than lots of kids from kelowna, nelson and cali (the odd exception)
Until this round I haven't seen anything beyond Dereks vid (that was the guy with the wire teeter I think) that got me the least bit excited. The front flip looks promising because very few people attempt it and I think its only been landed a couple of times (on a mtbike)
Maybe this is the fault of my mindset, but I watch these vids expecting to see the next Wade etc. But in reality these kids are 10-15 years behind, they very could be the next Wade (in the progression of things) I guess maybe I have to start looking at these vids like I watch OHL (this is minor league hockey BTW) games. Look for potential, not current...(I think typing this out just made me find why I haven't been stoked about these vids haha)

Season 1 and season 2 of this comp put out already refined riders. Super T came out on par with the best in the business as did Matt Hunter. Every year the comp goes downhill (I still don't like the lack of trail skills, too many hucking jumpers STILL)
i think that wayne goss had some serious talent, even though his vid had little freeride in it, his part in nwd5 did
heres some of his more trials stuff
