Introductions - Greatings from Colorado

Hey from Colorado,

I'm a non-traditional student at the University of Colorado in Boulder and I joined BikeForums because I'm interested in being part of an online bike community where I can join in discussions about anything bike related, from tech talk to bike advocacy and beyond.

I've been serious about cycling, both road and mountain, for about 15 years. My current rides include a Trek Fuel 100 (who would have guessed), an Orbea Force Carbon, a old Litespeed Obed in 1 speed trim and an even older Giordana Spica.

Colorado is pretty nice, and so is a lot of the riding, like Fruita. But it's not all great. Most of the riding I do around here involves major climbs and usually right from the parking lot. A typical ride starts with a 45 minute lung busting granny gear climb up washed out fire roads and rocky/sandy single track followed by some fast buff singletrack hanging on the side of some mountain followed by a kamikazi downhill back to the car. Great stuff if you live for climbing, but I'm originally from the east coast and I miss the slow technical roots and rocks riding you guys have.

Don't get me wrong. I chose to move to Colorado. I'm loving it and I would't move back east if you payed me (within reason of course). I just wish I lived closer to Fruita or Moab so I could ride it every day. ;)

A couple of my favorites on the front range, especially Hall. :D

I sold my CBR600 when I move out here a few years ago, so right now I'm without a motor. I'm thinking about converting a 400 to 600cc dirt bike into a supermoto bike. That would be a fun cayon buster and commuter.
