Hey-
I recently went on a vacation where my front wheel was off the bike for a while during the commute. When I got home and went to put the wheel back on, i found that it had some substantial wobble, or play from side to side. It even seems like it wobbles up and down. This problem persists when the wheel is tightened securely into the fork. The play is substantial enough that I would have noticed it on the ride if I had damaged the hub then. Does my hub just need to bo overhauled(regreased/cleaned) or do you think this is a more serious problem. Any input is appreciated!

Did you try tightening the nut on the side of the wheel hub before you installed it? I've had this happen too. Just tighten it as tight as you can with your fingers and the play should go away. If it isn't loose you may have bearing problems but if it was fine before I'll wager that it just rotated loose on you.

Bearing cones loose?

There was a substantial thread about this for the past couple of weeks under the 'Bicycle Mechanics" topic. Dig it up. Your answser is probably there.
