EDIT: Awesome image tagging too by me. So awesome.
Also note the classy bell helmets sticker and the used squash grip used as a chainstay protector. :D

Why? Just make sure you clean it after every ride. Just looks muddy to me....no big deal.

Why? Because good seals means the internals of your fork lasts longer.

It has seals on it. It has boots and then will likely have seals under it. At least thats what I thought. Unless his seals have blown/broken why replace it. If we in the pnw replaced seals everytime our bikes got muddy we would be broke and bikeless.

Unless that is oil pouring out the top of the left stanchion...then by all means replace the seals.

Im not saying replace seals after ever mud encounter. I thought he was saying his seals are crapped out. Besides, the enduros do a better job than any oem seal

No sir! piece of junk camera which blurs sides of pictures makes that water look like oil! Rest assured is oil.

ALso notice the obscene 35mm of travel I get in the normal course of riding. lol

Yeah I see that. Your internals might have more wrong with them then simply bad seals :)

I weigh 115lbs and the bike is a size too big for me so almost all my weight is on the rear. :D

Ahhh who cares, it's just like all the other MZ-comps I've tried! Probably just crappy forkology. Scratch probably and insert most definitely.

woo woo
I'm out! Will read replies tomorrow.

Bah! You call that muddy? I had to stop twice Friday morning just to clear the mud out of my fork so my tire would roll.

aight dawg, how can you tell though?

Also, I spent like 10 minutes cleaning all the crap off once I got out on to the sidewalk again. I kept going through a puddle.

The ramped part is supposed to be pointing forwards, not towards the back.

I don't think you should try to fix your travel problem on your own.

Just flip the whole wheel around. Reverse your QR skewer...or not. Doesn't really matter on the front-not on my bikes anyway. That's one of my pet peeves, tho-having my tires backwards. Don't really worry about anyone elses....

Yeah, but I'm guessing you've got discs? In his photo, looks like swiff has V's. Do you have a QR specific side on your fork, Raiyn? I keep mine on the left-hand side.

I think with rim brakes it doesnt matter what way your wheel is on.........if Im right, just flip your wheel, if not, just turn your tire around.......................

Actually my rebound adjuster is in the way. I advocate puttting the QR's on the side opposite the disc to remove any possiblity of touching the rotor. (Not something you want to do after blowing a tire on a long downhill) I'd do it on both ends but like I said the knob is in the way.

Another way of telling if your tires are on the right or wrong way is if they only have bright graphics on one side (like maxxis tires) the graphics are on the same side as the drivetrain (for photo purposes)

swifferman
03-28-05, 08:58 AM
my tires are extra cheap and have no such graphical features :(

OK I can just flip the tire around looks like.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Emphasis mine. That's what I figured, but I've never used discs. Maybe someday....when I get those ATAC's and that Specialized bike.;)
