Mountain Biking - Glasses Recomendation

Hey Guys, So im riding my local XC run when suddenly bzzzzzzzzzz splat, right in my eye, couldnt see a damn thing and veered off and had to stop, a fly flew straight into my eye, and it isnt the first time, Mud, stone, tree branches all seem to be attracted to my eyes, ive looked at eye protection before but dont really know where to start, i would get a set of oakleys but the bridge of my nose is very wide and so the oakleys sit very high on my eyes and dont really work very well, can anybody suggest a decent set of sun glasses to fit a big ol nose in the £20-£30 range?

Zap your eyes and ditch the glass. Best thing i ever did.

Riding without eye protection is a recipe for disaster.

I would recomend getting something effective but cheap.

I prefer clear glasses in the cheap price range from nashbar or performance or glasses with replaceable lenses. The reason? They tend to get a bit scratched up while riding off road. Like you said, branches, stones, etc. will be hitting them from time to time.

i have a pair of "native" replaceable lense sunglasses - come with 4 different lense colors (one set polarized)

i love them - they are lightweigt, comfortable, and don't slide around
they also have a lifetime replacement coverage plan

as for the big nose part of it, i have a pretty wide nose myself, and they seem to do ok - but i always worry about buying crapp on the net when i can't try it on

they cost me about $115 US - i am not smart enough to convert this to the queen's currency

You can get any laboratory or construction saftey glasses for quite a cheap cost, and they often come in a surprising variety of styles and lenses.

I have a pair of Smith Toasters, they are pretty good, and have interchangeable lenses.. i have no idea how much they cost as i got them for free, but i would reccomend them...

I havent had the pleasure of experiencing a bug in the eye, i wear glasses :(

Regular glasses I wear- Oakley Offline 4.0
Sunglasses- Oakley Square Wire 2.0

I have a pair of the square with fire iridium lenses, and then a pair of clear dartboards and a pair of half jackets...I've found the wires to not offer the coverage I need while riding.

Right now I wear Oakley Half-Jakcet XLJ's. They are ok I guess. From the amount of people wearing them I expected you to be able to see through women's clothing or something.

Sadly, they are just sunglasses.

I'm going to try a pair of Rudy Projects next time I get glasses, the adjustable nose-pieces sound good.

I have a couple pairs of Rudy Project Equinox's. They have interchangable lens' and they fit my big schnoz. They retail for more than you're wanting to spend, but if you buy a pair off Ebay you can get 'em for cheap. I got one pair for $55 with a hard shell case and a second pair for $40 without case (both brand new). The racing red lens' are the best for riding in the woods, not too light and not too dark.
