Mountain Biking - Help me pick a new crankset and BB for mostly XC

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My current crankset has about had it. It has been held together with JB Weld since last year. The JB Weld broke, so I have decided it is time for a new crankset. The bottom bracket is original and has a decent amount of miles so I might as well replace it while I am at it.
My bike consists of a 2003 Specialized Hardrock frame, Rock Shock Duke XC fork, Rhyno Lite XL/XT hub wheels, front Avid mech disc, LX shifters and XT derailers. The bike currently has the Truvativ crankset that came with the Hardrock.
I am still pretty much a beginner. My riding is pretty much XC, but I enjoy small jumps and am doing more as my confidence increases.
I am looking for a crankset and bottom bracket that will fit well with the rest of the bike. I wouldn't mind shedding a little weight, but I am more concerned with getting a solid crankset for a decent price. I will spend what it takes to get what I want. I would prefer to spend $150 or less for the crankset and BB though.
So, any recommendations?
Thanks!

Well, i would recommend the same crankset im using, truvativ stylo team but if your more interested in strength ide give the Truvativ Hussefelts a go. Look at their reviews @mtbr.com Strong cranks, reasonably light and not too expensive. You can probably snag some on ebay. Though you may end up spending a bit over 150 depending on the BB you choose
How about an XT BB and an XT crank??????? for $119.00
OH MAN...... I just looked and they are all out of them :-)
They do have some good prices on race face stuff though...

I recommend anything at all.
How about the RaceFace Evolve XC with the X-type BB?
They're on sale at JensonUSA (http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/CR602A00-Race+Face+Evolve+Xc+Crankset+05.aspx).
Anyone have any comments on the Truvativ GXP Stylo?
Truvativs website seems to be down. I can't find much info on their stuff right now.
I have read complaints about weak rings on the old Race Face Evolves. Are the new ones the same way?

I got my 3-ring FSA V-drive extreme crankset with a bottom bracket (and installed) for about what you're looking to spend.
Those will also hold up to a lot more than XC riding if you decide to do that. They don't weigh all that much, either.

No it's been moved http://www.sram.com/en/truvativ/index_content.php
Cranksets depend on how big you are. I run a Hussefelt and a GiGapipe Team DH BB but I'm a big guy. I've never had a problem with this setup

Thanks.
My weight fluctuates between 165lbs and 175lbs.
Looks like a Stylo Team GXP for about $125 shipped should fit my needs well. Any comments on this?
Thanks.

Anything you want in that case as most things are made for your weight class. I'm 250 + so I need to be picky. If you want to get more hardcore then the combo I mentioned may be an advantage, so long as your not racing

I think that hte stylo team you mentioned would be fine. Its probably not bombproof but your not going on big jumps it seems, and your not that heavy so i would snag it. By the way, where did you find it for 125?
