Introductions - hi i'm a road bikie from Israel

nonetheless, with many elapsed miles of riding.

Well shalom! :) What type of riding do you all have out there? Where do you ride? What type of bike do you have?

im from israel to! well im in the UK now been here since i was 2, but i was born ni israel, my parents both grew up there! although i dont think my dads grown up yet lol

what part you from? i was born and lived in telaviv, i have family in natanya, bersheva and hifa

gosh ,did not expect this to be a thread but if so ,yes...we roadies do Tel Aviv tothe jerusalem hills
passing through Ramla+Lod and on to Latrun and beit Gubrin area.Very simillar in character like LA and Phoenix type geography and same type weather. So depending what miles you want to cover, you can strech out to as much as 150 miles just around that area which is central Israel . Not to mention trips to Eilat ,down south to the Red sea or up north to the Galilee area. All in all some preetyy steep hills and
flat desert arrid conditions.No shortage of road if your legs are into it.
god only knows where off road bikers havent gone yet....
by the way, there is a Klein Aeolus for sale (650cc) up in Nazareth size 52cm .
I remember seeing a thread involving such wheels somewhere.

hey, lived in Jerusalem for a year about ten years ago. lovely place...I miss it. unfortunately, I didn't get to put any bike tyres on any roads over there. There's still time though...

the truth is that Ive been recovering from an accident that resulted in a collarbone fracture,been doing PT , ortho visits and
gradually, am getting back in shape .
I will be out early tomorrow for a round trip of 120 km,
the sooner the better so as to avoid midday sunburn...
cycling just for the love of it.

I also lived in Eilat and Tel Aviv for a while and like Jack, miss it immensely but never got to ride there (well except for a nice jaunt around the Galeel (spelling?). However, now is southern spain, so am hoping to hop over some day your way and chew up the miles. Am thinking about doing a Turkey through Syria route - any tips for getting to Israel? Cheers Maggi

I am not so sure about Syria or Lebanon ,cross border travel to Israel.
Something you should check before you leave Europe.
I have to remind you that Im in the racing and time trail end of it,so my distances
are considerably small.Eventhough when Im not in shape it does feel like an endless
ride.But,we try not to stray too far away from home.

I agree that some folks might not view bike touring as some western folk do, but then, once in while
you might read about an adventurous rider or a group of riders that are into exactly that kind of an
adventure or even worse...
