Just thought I'd post a pic of my "slightly modified" Crosscheck. I'll post some more in a day or two.
Enjoy.

May I be the first to express my envy...
(secretly wishing that a parcel with a crank awaits me at home)

I built up a set of Paul SS disc hubs for it. It's set up with an 18t freewheel.

Nice. Very trick in the stealth look dept.
That is hot. I drool for that machine.
Nice word-play as well. This pretty much proves the CrossCheck is the most versitle and reinterpreted bike out there.

WOW, that bike rocks.....any Idea on the total cost to build up that machine. I am looking to do a single speed, and that looks like a worthy role model
Cool man, give it some gears and Id be tempted to steal it!
just kidding. my bike was stolen a few years ago, and of course Id never steal anyones bike regardless. nice parts.. thomson.. winwood.. diggin the disk brakes/fenders combo. steel frame/carbon fork.. to hell with fads and trends, its all about what works. I love my black steelie..

I was just on tshirthell.com (or whatever) surf it a bit and my initial comment may make more sense : )

Yea, F the fads!
Thanks for all the comments from everyone. I'm really proud of this rig. I just ordered a carbon 31.8 bar and Thomson 31.8 stem today so I'll repost the updated pic's and specs in a few weeks.

Well I hate to actually add up the exact cost in fear of heart attack but I've just recently put almost a grand into it (a grand @ wholesale/prodeal) with the new carbon fork, Paul SS disc wheelset, new Avid road calipers, Mega EXO cranks, carbon 31.8 bar and Thomson X-4 stem (which aren't installed yet). I'd guess it cost me somewhere around $1500 or so in the end. Most of the other components were sold to rebuy the new ones so it wasn't a complete shock to the wallet.
Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll try and get up some new pics after the frame get's refinished.

Did you ride that bad boy with the SKS fenders yet? I have the same setup (54cm crosscheck, 170 cranks, size 11 foot) and clip the front fender when I turn! I hope you have a small foot, because your fender looks close too. I am thinking about cutting off the bottom of the fender and removing the lower brace. Let me know how you make out.

Yep, been riding with the fenders for some time now. There is a little bit of fender/toe overlap but I've just gotten used to it over the years. I have them set so I can also run my 40c cross tires for normal daily commuting. The 23c's shown in the pic are just for long group road rides. Normally the little tips that stick out and snag my feet are gone when I run the 40c's. I'm running 175mm cranks and a whopping size 42.5 shoe.
The fenders are off for 6 months usually anyway.
Just as an idea, I've cut those fenders off below the top fender stay and added a small downtube fender and had good luck with that, just looks goofy...

I didnt know that you could get a Crosscheck with disc brake mounts. This is the first Ive seen. Was it a special order type of deal?

The disc mount was custom fabricated by a framebuilder friend of mine. In exchange, I moved some dirt around in his garden and brought a few beers!
Here's a pic of the mount in the rough.
