I have a Vega ds-900 and in the o.e.m. picture on the internet it showns the shock with the shaft facing the front of the bike. It is a single pivot design and when i recieved it from the guy i bought it from, the shaft was facing towards the back. I was wondering if the direction of the shock matters on a single pivot rear suspension design.

anyone? ive noticed alot of single pivots have the shaft facing rear...

Never heard of the bike but the pic on the net is probably correct. It shouldn't really matter though.

thats a link to what it looks like and when the shaft faces the front, the metal plate that holds the bottom of the spring rubs agains the piece of aluminum where the shock is mounted on the frame...

The shock doesn't care which direction it's facing. If it fits properly either way, orient it to eliminate the rubbing.
