BMX - Same Chain As Me? Any one?

I just want to know if anyone else uses the Wipperman Pro Grinding Chain? I am the only one that I know so far that Has that chain. If you have one and you dont know what it is called..well it is a big fat chain. (resembles a motorcycle chain but a bit smaller) It is industrial strength for grinding and sprocket stalls without a bash gaurd. (atleast I think)

I got one for Christams this year. I love it, though a lot of people hate it. They say it's to heavy or it's to strong, that it's a bit over kill. But I don't care because I have some bad hard landings on my chain and I feel a lot safer trying new grinds on cement or skinny rails knowing I have probably the strongest chain made for BMX.

I'm not one of those weight ******s, but that **** is too heavy. also, you can still bend your sprocket. i sprocket grind with a regular chain and a kink light sprocket

Hmm. I didnt know that. But my chain wheel is about 2 or 3 mm thick, so it is pretty strong too.

Everyone I know that are n00bs to BMX all say that my chain is way to big. But when I tell them what its for then they say "Ohhh right no then!"

Yeah dude, you're right, 3mm is not thick. That is more like a stock chainwheel thickness. Some of the good chainwheels (sprockets) have like 7mm or 6mm thick if they're made of 6061-T6 aluminum and 6mm or 5mm thick if they're made out of 7075 aluminum. I'm not a sprocket pro, but I'm pretty certain that 3mm is not very thick for a sprocket.

Yea, 3mm is pretty damn thin. I used to ride a 10mm sprocket... now that thing was rediculous. And the wipperman pro does not resemble a motercyle chain. The kink fat boy fits that description better. A motercycle chain still has the 8 shaped links. The wipperman just has ovals.

I don't think it resembles a motorcycle chain that much but most of my friends say it does because they are new to the BMX world or parts. :lol: Well I don't reely know how big a mm is so I would have to go out and mesure my chainwheel. It may be bigger, i don't reely care if it is or not because it hasnt broke on me so its good enough for me.

iv always used a kmc super fat, it might b heavy and abit over kill but im not gonna b the one walkin home after doin a session in town ride hard u need hard parts thats how i see it

The KMC "super fat" is a 415H. Or maybe an HX (mushroomed pins, rather than straight pins), although I doubt it.

Actually, I'd say that you reputation reeks of scatterbrained pikey bike thiefs hanging out at the parks, and of Team Sano raids into the southern territories.

lol yeah we get out fair share of all that aswell espesh the pikeys at some of the parks my local is patroled at all times so were its not 2 bad

u can buy smaller and stronger parts, i mean the only reson that you got that bike is because it snaped. i bought a mosh for 100 dollars and the frame never would snap. i have used a wipperman pro chain and it is huge, and i have bought a 30 dollar chainwheel and it never bent... all that im saying is that you dont need huge for the bike to be strong, because after you buy all these parts your bike will be heavy as heack. get a danscomp for free off their site and look at all the parts that u can buy.

I noticed that The shadow chain is being used by more and more people in my area, i ridden my friends bike who has one, and it felt pretty great, and its pretty strong.
