Hey-
I was working on my XTR V-brakes the other night and noticed something. While my wheel was warped, i was forced to play with the balance of the breaks using the spring tension adjucting screws on the sides of the brakes. After the wheel was trued, I set the brakes back up without a thought. Last night when I was going over the bike after a ride, I noticed that the two brake calipers are noticably unbalanced(looking straight at the fork from the front, one caliper is in line with one leg, while the other appears to lean to the right of the other tube.) I corrected it some, but it stilll doesn't seem balanced, as the rear does. I do not notice a difference in braking because of this. The pads are equal distances from either side of the rim. Do you think this could cause damage? Have I already caused damge by having them end up this way? Any other suggestion? THANKS for the input!!
