Only thing comes to mind...75-85 is John Travolta..and he is no musician...

with bands such as devo, clash and kraftwerk were laying it down...i think if you were listening to the radio during this time period, you missed the way too much, cause most radio stations where busy trying to make $$$ than really trying to hear the voice of a new generation.....

i remember seeing devo live the first time on saturday night live and being completely blown away...what about the birth of what is known today as hip hop.... i can remember the first time i heard rappers delight, not to mention the birth of the dj....cause i really can not remember if it was malcom maclarens or herbies' rockit that i heard first...but i can remember my life forever being changed...

what about the rise of the one known today as michael jackson.....i caught the jackson 5 live...during their dance machine tour somewhere around '76-78....

not to mention parliament p-funk mothership connection rick james, prince...

and what about the good ol' grateful dead.....and last but certainly not least....carlos santana....if all you've got from 75-85 is john travolta where exactly is fallbrook in california anyway......cause you guys missed wayyyyyy too much....this is off the top of my head.....i can go deeper....

I know this doesn't really fit the genre you're looking for, but for me it's almost certainly DJ Krush.

dj krush is playing in the bay area on his way down to coachella....4/29 at a venue i'm able to get my camera into....i can't wait....one of my favorite djs'

i caught his instore back in oct in support of jaku....i had recently just upgraded my camera and was still learning how to use it....i take much better pictures now....dj krush in october....dj ztrip today see the differnce....

Karmichael don't know what happens to time....Decades pass and from 75 to 85- seems just Travolta..Seems Santana was early 70's...Guess we categorize our life's travels in decades...?
Music just seems a disco blurr from Beatles to 80's stuff? you are probably the better music historian...
But I do remember Chicago's WLS AM, ( think the station was, poking fun at disco with its' cut "So you want to be a disco Duck"...
maybe I turned out music in mid -70's thinking it all Disco..? like I have Network TV for the past 15 years...
But I do remember tuning into mid-80's stuff when Cars and Cindy Lauper hit the scene...
Fallbrook...Great cycling...Supposedly on north end of San Diego county, which many think? somewhat left alone from the ravages of the bulldozer, but not for much longer...so , traditionally some of the best hilly pastoral cycling in the US...atop valleys of Citrus and avocado...better enjoy it while one can...
But it is 60 miles north of San Diego, ( 20 miles inland.) rural..
not the music scene of LA, but better cycling...most significant pop music of Fallbrook...Christain rock..if you like it, that can rock tho...
ps---actually most of my Music appreciation was taught at two other locations....the Diag at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and beach bars featuring Gregg Almon Band on the west coast of Florida.
