Noah Budnick, New York City's bicycling advocate, injured while bicycling
Transportation Alternatives Statement of March 30, 2005

On Tuesday, March 29, longtime bicycling advocate, Noah Budnick, was involved in a serious crash as he bicycled in Brooklyn near the exit of the Manhattan Bridge. Mr. Budnick was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. He is in stable condition, but remains in intensive care. Mr. Budnick is not able to see visitors at this time. Details of the crash are still emerging.

Mr. Budnick has worked tirelessly to make the streets safe and inviting for New Yorkers of all ages to bicycle. His work has led to many miles of new bicycling lanes, hundreds of new bicycle racks, bicycle access to bridges and targeted bicycling education.

The staff of Transportation Alternatives appreciates the outpouring of well wishes that we have received over the last few hours, we will forward them on to Noah and his family. We ask that you continue to respect the wishes of Noah's family by coordinating all public responses and inquiries with us.
For those interested in sending flowers and the like, please send them to the T.A. office.

I am closing all the duplicate threads on Noah's crash, and leaving just the one mentioned in Hawkear's post. Please continue discussion there.
