Road Cycling - 43 or 44 for shoe size, Im a true 10.5 in size

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I know, go and try them on! However, I like to browse ebay and find great deals. Im looking for a nice pair of sidi road shoes in my size of 10 1/2. Im right down the line, not narrow and not wide. What would I be looking at in the sidi sizing or other great road shoes - 43 or 44? thanks,

Try them on. There is nothing quite as variable as shoe size and, as with frames, fit can be VERY important.
To give you an idea... I wear size 8 [US/Canada] Converse sneakers, size 41.5 Asics training shoes, Size 42 Diadora Chili MTB shoes and size 42.5 Sidi Energy road shoes. They all fit equally well, even though they're all different sizes. It has a lot to do with the shape of the last and the shape of your foot, so what might be an ideal 43 for you may not be for someone else and vice versa.
If you want to take a chance, go for it... but saving $50 on a pair of shoes that are agonizing after an hour is an awfully strange way to economize. IMO.

I tried a pair of Sidi Genius 3s at the bike shop. They seemed to run kind of narrow for the length. Too narrow for my foot, anyway. (My foot is a little wide, but I usually do fine in standard width street shoes.) Maybe someone else has more info, or there are some comments in roadbikereview.com. Sidi makes a "mega" version that's supposed to be wider, but the shop didn't have any, so I don't know how much wider they are.

The Sidi Mega versions should fit E widths. I have a pair of "Megas" and usually take a D width, have a wide forefoot and they're a tiny bit wide for me, but are quite comfy. The "toe box" is very roomy too.
