Recumbent - My New Blog

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Here is my new Blog: http://magillagorillakk.blogspot.com/
Check it out. Of course I have an email account working and if you do not like what I have posted or you have ideas for future topics please email me or answer any of my posts. I will not censor.
Some of the current topics are my team Bacchetta membership and my views on the high vs low controversy.
You will find it interesting and as always I hope a civil disscussion will happen. If not so what? No ban button!
I am hoping to provide an escape valve in bent land. one is sure needed! Much useless hostility among brothers.
Peace to all of you and go out and find a dumpster bike and get it to working and give it to someone.

Thanks. It looks like a wonderful waste of time and internet space. One of the last places you guys can go to whine and cry about being banned from everywhere else.

"Suds getting banned from bikeforums.net" must have been an April Fools fib by Dennis from my racing team.

Thanks Chris for the nice words.
You are of course welcome to join the discussion.
You see 'bent people are generaly older folks and when you get older you get less tolerant and cranky of the younsters when they want to have a little fun. So its off the old guy message boards and in to the BLOG world! You should be happy?
Keep riding....

Here's what I never get about this board : The guys accused of being trolls always seem the nicest, while the 'hardcore bent racers' sort of act like pr*cks.

Hey, Kev, I haven't always agreed with your diatribes but I find you one of the most interesting people that I've run across on the net. We only live a couple of hundred miles apart and I look forward to the day I meet you in person.
I think your blog is a good idea where you can go and expound on bents and life without fear of reprisal. I've been reading it and intend to get over there soon and post.
You may be a little eccentric, but I still find you interesting and wish you the best.

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for the support. None of that stuff needs to be on anyones message board so it can go over on my site. But I am trying to educate people on recumbents with a little satire. You see, Bentdom has an identity crisis and in a big time way. We now have light weight fast bents and no real place to race them for those that want to do that deal and the other problem is that these new breed of 'bents are just to fast to fit in the polite society of the DF group rides that is if you want to get a workout.
That is where supporting company's like Bacchetta is a good idea because they are commited to building a race oriented culture and as they grow will spend money on this very thing.
I have a few opinions of the folks on the VK team and the people who sell that bike here in the states.
Nothing is bad about Kamils fine work.
You will have to go check out my Blog for that though in a few days or so.
I hope to meet up with you and I know we would have a good time riding and tilting a few brews.

Actually, when I started riding a bent I have had to be more tolerant of the poor DF ers. They just don't get it. I smile on the inside when they all seem to ask the same questions.

My guess is you are an old fellow with a homebuilt streamer. John Tetz, Tom Porter, Ralph Koser and Tyger will be proud of you. Tyger has used enough coroplast with his rear wheel fairing to be considered one of the home builder recumbent fellows.

I could be or not. It just depends on the other person's age. Today I ran across a lady on a DF that I know. She asked all the standard bent questions. Then she talked about her rides. She proceeded to tell me about her rides just two years ago. She rode 100 miles two days straight! I was taking a break and she left in the same direction I was going. I started after her a couple of minutes later. I was pedaling about 17 mph for about 7 miles. I couldn't catch up to her. I ran out of steam cause it's the first longer ride I've done this year. And she about 10 years older than me. So today I felt old.
