I just rode to work and back. I have been training for a race, but I needed a night off.

Nights off are good.

Think of it as time for your body to re-group for the big day:)

I didn't really ride either, just to school and then to a friends house to play some pool.

remember this and it will boost your performance hugely on race day. Do not asume that as you get closer to the race the more you cycle the better, it is quite the opposite. A week before, take a break do 1 third of the distance you might ovther wise do and at a lower intensity. say the race is on the weekend, ride on tuesday and thursday, just an hour or so each of those days and not interval training just ride at a comfortable pace. 2 days before the race pack those carbs in, lots of pasta potatoes bread cereal etc if the race is under 2 hours carbo loading is not as important, but still make sure you get enough food in you! remember drink lots aswell, i used to never drink enough, how can you stay hydrated when cycling if you where not even fully hydrated to begin with, so take in 1-2 liters of water in a day, it cant hert you to take more in (unless its race day which is why you hydrate yourself before hand and then just drink adequate amounts on the day) the point is you are fully stocked up on food and water the night before so you can take it easy on the day.

Good for you. Your body needs a break now and again. Good luck with your race.
