BMX - wats up with these forks?

like, why the pegs not on the axle??? dude! thats new to me! :eek:

i think its a new fork they invented because landing on pegs were putting to much stress on the axles and were bending them so now this way its all stress is on the fork and the fork is stronger than the axel. my theory any ways

there called peg boses...they were built so that you didnt have to grind or worry about bending your axles and they look cool......there really heavy......

they aren't new. they are very very old. they are peg bosses, so if you bend the bolts that hold the peg on, you just buy new ones at a hardware store. just like profile hubs

Most hoffmans have the peg on the fork. They have for about 3 years now. Just a good idea, takes the burden off the axle.

just because an axle is 14mm thick doesn't mean that it is strong. Standard and kink axles are stronger than many 14mm axles. I do toothpicks alot, so i go through front axles like nothing

and what size axle are you running in the front? i've never gone through 14's as much as 3/8ths, and i land hard on grinds.

ummm YOUR WRONG! ok for the last 2 years Hoffman hasnt had peg bosses on their bikes....so dont talk about what you dont know about...(that didnt make sene)

peg boss bolts are realy easy to break, they are only 3/8ths so i want back to the good old 14mm dropouts

I saw forks like that on the Nerves at a local bike shop. I thought they were stupid looking. I got to ride one of the Nerves that had pit bosses, They didn't handle like a normal bike.

Maybe he was going with the fact that you said you do toothpicks alot... but you go threw 14mm axles like nothing, you must land too hard then, and so work on your landing of tooth picks.
