Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I think this one would be a good fit for you...I can tell! Keith rides a 58-59 normally and this one fits him like a glove.
I am very bummed myself, because I had planned on building up one of these for myself as well, and its too big. Oh well c'est la vie

Hey Cav, I actually have one here that isn't all ZONA like the rest of them...THIS one has Columbus MAX on the chainstays...so even better..but the SAME price... ;)
Don't PM me unless you want to be tempted even more! We've decided to sell these for our cost basically to allow us to to put in some more orders of other sizes, since we originally had demand for a bunch of 56cm frames, and the dimensions we actually got ended up being more like 58cm like I mentioned.

By the way SATURDAY I am out...I can't believe I forgot...the TOUR is on! 830am starts a 3 hours preview...and then the prologue is on at 1130am!!!

I knew there was a reason why I'll be there in person!!!
Anyways, bikeophile, do you know if keith has shipped the wheels I ordered from him? If they don't get here by the 1st of july I won't get to use them until I get back to Canada, which means I'll just have extra luggage and the shipping of the wheels will have been a waste. I would assume they are on the way because I paid for them on May 12th, but I haven't been able to get in touch with Keith for quite a while. Thanks!

Shiz...please take lots of pics and bring back souveneirs! I am so envious of you! Have I mentioned that yet? One of these years I'll be there for the Tour. Maybe when Lance Armstrong's son is riding the Tour :)
On the wheel front, I am not sure if he shipped them...I do know that he was looking into the prices on shipping a while ago, but not sure what happened after that. PM me if you want his email address. Personally, if he HASN'T shipped them (which I have no idea), I would tell him to keep them here...the last thing you need is a new wheelset getting banged up on the way home after just getting them. I know for sure that they were built...I saw them looking sweet in the shop a while back.

Head to the path and head West for a while and work up an appetite?
I am heading to the 1245pm showing of WAR OF THE WORLDS...so I should be getting there just in the nick of time! :)

Hey guys! Fun ride today! what a scorcher! Once we got out on Lakeshore it was much nicer though...quite a head wind on the way back...we only did around 30km I think..but the Pork Buns were awesome as usual!!
So tomorrow is the Chin Picnic races...According to the midweek club there races start at 8am tomorrow, but I think there may be a race starting at 730am..
I am planning on heading there for 8am...anyone want to go?? If so, bring a lock for your bike and meet me at the Corner of Yonge and the Esplanade at 730am and we'll ride over together.
If I don't see anyone at 730am I will head there myself. I will have my cell (the number is listed on my website) also.
Seeya tomorrow maybe

so, I was doing a little research on Grenoble (I am going there on the 2nd), and I found the site for their Palais des Sports, which is a kind of professional multisport center with a nice full size wooden banked velodrome. Anyways, their website is made in flash and terrible, but the photos from their annual 6 day track races are hilarious. Its like track racing meets cabaret meets cirque de soleil meets rock concert meets fine dining. The pictures will explain what I mean. Essentially bare bones track bikes and bare titties. I can't link directly, so just go past the intro to the main part of the site and click on '6 jours cyclistes' and then go through the sections and click on the images on the right.
http://www.palais-des-sports.com/flashsite.php?taille=1024
I wish I was there when this was going on but I'll bet the tour will be even more crazy so no biggie.

Not me, unfortunately, I'm busy healing. Ramming to beat a light, got cut off, hit the brake and flew with the greatest of ease... Sometimes I think riding brakeless would be a better option as I'd keep my speed down given that I seem to crash every 6 months or so. No serious damage, just a bit of road rash and sore ribs, but I think I have a date with relaxation this weekend to heal up.

ah geez man!! Get some rest! Well at least the Tour is on this weekend, so you can keep entertained while you're at home resting!
If I had a TV that would be the case :D
I'll probably sit in the backyard with a couple pints and contemplate the twenty I'm building up for touring.

Yep, drink lots of beer cavit8 that should speed the healing process. Then we can all go for a ride :bday:

Hey all. The first "messenger" evening at the London velodrome went pretty well. All told there were 12 of us from Toronto who made the journey down to race and do the learn to ride. Although there were at least 4 in the bunch who could have been in the "A" group, we all did a program with just our Toronto group. We all did a flying lap time...cheers to Mike with a scorching...at least for us...9.16 second lap. Everyone had a pretty good time as far as timed laps with everyone putting in lower than 11 second laps....even me! WOO WHO! The second event we all did was a 20 lap scratch race with Mark of Kingz of the Road, coming over the top on the last turn to nip Dave at the line. So all those folks who tried to give Mark a hard time for his "fixie pedigree" or "track king" moniker can feel free to go down and try to beat him. The next event was a 15 lap scratch with Stephano leading the group off the line. I guess he did not realize that the first lap was a neutral lap on the low "cote d'azure" section of the track to get up to speed. Most followed him into the steeper banking at a low speed and before we knew it the whole group was falling and sliding down the track en masse. Much laughter ensued...both from the spectators and all of us. We got it together for a second start and after a fairly mellow first 10 laps Mike took a flyer and took off from everyone for the win. The last event was an unknown distance event and we were all kind of burnt out a little from riding the track all day. It was agreed that we would all stick together at a moderate pace until the bell for 3 laps to go. Apparently Chris "granola" didn't understand this and tried to go off the front on his own. This was a gutsy move for a guy who has only been riding fixed for 2 weeks. In any case he got caught by the group before the bell. The final 3 laps were hotly contested with Dave just holding off Mike at the line.
It was an awesome day of riding and racing. Our next trip down will be Saturday July 30th. Anyone who would like to join us is welcome. Let me know if you are interested and we can make arrangements to get you down there. K.

That sounds like a blast! I'll make the one after next, going to a 3 day hippie music festival the weekend of the 30th. Anaïs sez she'll come too so maybe we'll throw some schwag for winners? Didn't do squat this weekend but decompress from the big apple debacle. I'll be by tomorrow or tuesday with your jersey btw, hope you like it! gotcha patch too.

Shiz, I'm so friggin jealous of you...
here is my routine, I wake up at 7am, turn on OLN and keep and eye on the tv while I get ready for work Usually I can catch the start of the race before I leave. Then I pretend I'm a racer as I blitz into work (Queen/university)....oh yeah you might not know it in France, but Toronto is have a heat wave (42 degrees with humidex this week). Once at work, (shedding water like a snowman in the Mojave desert) I go to this website http://www.letour.fr/2005/TDF/LIVE/us/1100/index.html
and keep hitting refresh about every 5 minutes until they get down to the last 20km of the stage (or a crash happens), at which point I run into our office boardroom [where the only TV with cable is], and watch till the end of the stage.
how has everyone else been these days?? I'm without a fixie now (hit a car), looking to go single speed me thinks..

Hi. Sorry to jump in here but, speaking of the tour, now that they're in the alps we're hearing a lot of talk about the steepness of the climbs. This has me wondering the % gradient some of our local hills here in Toronto. One of the climb's in today's stage was average 6.1% I believe. Anybody know what that translates to in Toronto terms? How steep are the hills we ride? Avenue Rd., Ellis Ave., Mt. Pleasant, Don Mills, Beech, High Park, Bayview, Pottery Rd., etc...
