Subway or not. It's still 1.5 hours to get home which is quite the annoying. I don't know if you guys have ever tried riding up Yonge st. in the evening. It gets real sketchy north of Lawrence. Especially going under the 401 on ramp.

Got a nice vintage Campagnolo front brake on the Rossin now, to replace the 105 that was on it.

The springs on it are really strong.

I like it.

It feels like it will last forever, which is probably true.

Well, I lived. Did okay too. Lots of fun. One guy brained himself on a pole though ... hopefully he's okay. Other than that ... ya, I'm going to go eat dinner now. Thanks to everyone that showed up and especially Somna for hanging out w/ me for half the race. Joe Bent, his delightful sig.other, Somna and I sat around on the island for a few hours after the race and did some good grass-sittin'/liquor drinking.

Might be up for a lazy ride tomorrow if it's later in the day.

It is currently 31 degrees, of the 35 degree high !

At the Science Centre the big steel/aluminium thermometer thingie showed 37 degrees C around 14:30. I met up with a friend there and took the DVP trail down to the Beaches, which were packed; thankfully there was a nice breeze off the lake.

Oh operator, taking northbound Don Mills north of Eglinton is awesome - it doesn't have as steep inclines/valleys as Yonge, plus it has a HOV lane.

Ya, most useless map EVAR (never use a map w/out an index/grid system). We even called Somna's gf for some google maps help, but to no avail. That was the liquour store checkpoint, so in the end I just said **** it and went somewhere else (had to insure beer availability for later on). That got me a DQ since I hit up the wrong liquor store, but even after all the wasted time trying to find the place and going to a completely different one, I think I ended rolling in third overall?

No too bad if you ask me for the first time out.

Sweet!! Hov lane? How far does it go?

I think it started just north of Eglinton and continued to at least Steeles if I remember correctly (probably further). Oh, and it's not like the narrow one on Yonge - it's a lot wider to fit both bikes and buses.

Glad you had fun EyeFloater..... sounds fun. Third overall? Super!!!!! Some of the check point clues can be completely weird. and even the most local messer can be all WTF? Helps even things out. Sounds like they did a pretty good job. Any more word on the crasher? Happy Fathers' Day to all the Daddys out there. I'm heading up to New Market for the fourth time in two days about lunch time. My wife is doing an artisan festival thingy up there. Have a great day all.

Round trips there and back x3....urgh, least this time I'll stay for the afternoon. hmmm BBQ
Kaibot...the springs in those Campy's are flippin' awesome. Mine was 15 years old before it finally broke and I was still gettnig great response from it. Overall my fav brake, though I've got a designers' eye soft spot for Campy Delta's (haven't heard great things about them though).
