Ride to frisbee golf. I don't think there will be any Pride festivities goin on out there tomorrow? What do you think? Pick up a few pints and head down around 12ish? Time to get in a round and a half and have some chill time. P.Ming you my cel in case you don't have it.

Sounds good. Do you have a fancy frisbee? Or just something normal? I have a cheap frisbee here from a conference, and I also have an Aerobie sport. :)

Frisbee golf hmm don’t you have to use led filled ones for that? Tried it once at Centennial Park i remember the disc's being heavy?

For more than you ever really wanted to know about frisbee golf (disc golf more generically) discs, checkout
golf discs http://tinyurl.com/zcax9

There's a load of different weights involved and, depending on the disc, it will have different characteristics in flight. If you're using baskets, proper discs are pretty much a must. Like steeker, I generally use my regular discs: heavies, 165 + for driving and the smaller ones for finisse appoachers, 133's or 110's depdending on wind conditions

I don't know if there's even a real disc course in the Toronto area. yeah, I know there's different weights and such, hence my question. There's a real course out on the islands afaik.

Doing it on a fixie would be pretty hardcore, but I guess I am not hardcore enough.

We will be on our dope geared bikes, the Benotto and the Cramerotti.

I don't even own a helmet so I had to take one from work today

I dont even like it, but I never like any helmet I try on.

I will probably bring it back...

So finally made it down to MEC today (4:30ish) no more park tool (witch i knew) they are now selling fitzer, but no pedal wrenches in stock. Cycle therapy (great place to get park tools) the chic convinced me on the shop one $ but very nice & beefy.

*stream of profanity*

I just experienced an almost overwhelming urge to sell off the Pake frame/wheelset and build up a new commuting bike. Steamroller is at least double butted ... I can get it for cheap and it'll fit bigass cyclocross tires in the winter.

That and I've got that 36/36 double fixed set of Formula hubs just itching to be laced up 3 leading/3 trailing.

Oh willpower, save me now.

If you don't get to using the hubs hook me up! I don't feel like placing an order for it.
and broken social scene/bloc party/fiest blew my mind.
I feel asleep in the sun waiting for the bands to come out so i'm going to peel everywhere tomorrow :(

Maybe not the best place to post this, but it IS Toronto, so...

My store in North York is looking to hire one person, full-time or darned close to it. Wrenching ability is a plus, but mostly we need someone for the floor. We do bikes in the summer, but a lot of hockey, soccer, curling and baseball too, so someone that is into other sports would be a bonus. Oh, we need someone who can continue to work daytime hours through the winter.

If any of you know someone who might fit the bill, tell them to stop by Spokes and Sports on Avenue Rd near Wilson. PM me here if you want more info.

I don't know the route of the hairshirt ride, but London to Mount Albert (~250 km) takes me a good 10 hours, so anything less than 15 hours for 325 km is really awesome!

HA! Awesome. It literally looks like the guy is getting thrown off a bull.

One time my front wheel DID actually come off.
I was riding with no skewer after it broke doing some drops.
On the ride home, my weight was the only thing keeping the wheel connected.
I went to bunny hop the curb. Silly me.
You can imagine the rest of the details.
It looks sort of like the picture.

just had a nap and a shower after the Hairshirt. feels sooooo good to be done and non salty.

we finished in 11 hours and 40 minutes including breaks, with an average speed of 30km/h, got a pretty sweet sunburn and I can't move out of my chair without feeling sore.

but all in all it was a great ride, I had some doubts but then just forgot about everything and kept on going.

And I set the record for being the youngest rider with the fastest time :D
