I had a little interview with a reporter from Macleans Mag this morning. He is doing an article on fixed gear riding and would like to talk with a couple of fixie riders for the article. P.M. if you want to be involved. K.

Why repaint a frame when you can spend that money on fancy parts? Plus if you don't repaint you end up with an 'ugly' bike that people will want to steal slightly less. And the more slightly less people want to steal your bike, the better!
PS. Keith, Don't they only want to speak to lawyers, doctors and ceo's? (like the lady from New York Times) I am officially a 'banker' but in reality a nearly-22-year-old-working-an-entry-level-facilities-management-job-at-the-bank. haha pretty sweet now that I look at it that way.

I painted my old Miele black and then laid it out in the backyard and put a black blanket on it and let it sit out there in the sun for about 3 days which really baked the paint in. Good luck with it.

ghetto fabulous. :)
ps. were you riding on Bloor W last night at around 7:00? I saw someone with gold rims (and teeth, presumably) fly by going the opposite direction. I was driving though and there was traffic, so I didn't get a good look. Plus you know, I have zero clue what you look like. In fact, suddenly I'm having doubts as to whether you even live here since I haven't met you.
pps. if I have met you, I appologize. :P

Hrm, nope on both accounts...I wasn't on Bloor last night (my route is usually Queen West) and I've never been to Jet Fuel either. Is some bastard passing himself off as me again?!? ;)
The only person I've met from here is 32flav when I hooked her up with that Gardin frame; how is that coming anyhow, 32flav? I am anxious to see it :)

So it seems that Wes, with T-Mobile and Rasmussen, has un-officially won the tour pool...barring a complete collapse by the Pink boys in the next few days, which seems highly unlikely. Joebent had a chance with Cunego and CSC but Cunego is gonna get b1tch slapped by Fothen in the T.T, ruining any hope for him. If you are gonna still come by manana to drop off yer bike I will have a little going away gift, aka "mystery prize", for you at the shop. Congrats. K.

WES FOR THE WIN!!!!!
Shiznaz
07-20-06, 01:02 PM
Well my call that Floyd will win still stands but I still don't want him to win (although his comeback pretty much has me on his side now. The French wanted panache and they got steamrolled)
I neglected to make guesses for any of the other classifications but I would have chosen Rasmussen for the polka dots (because he won last year), Boonen for green (world champion) and I don't follow pro cycling enough to make a guess on white (some french dude). T-mobile for the team (becuase I saw how they spent twice as much as any other team before the tour started).
I still want Cadel to take it though, aussies are the best.

Think today qualifies as panache? I sure think so, L'equipe I double dog dare you to print something nasty about Landis now. I bet the drug references are on the presses as we speak.

Welp, I am off to the cottage (my friends, I am way too poor for a cottage) until Sunday night...bikeless for 4 days! Maybe she has an old beater I can wheel around on, show those Muskoka'ers how we do it in Toronto ;) Ciao, have a great weekend guys.

speaking of ******* (don't all good stories start this way?), today I was about to send an email to the directors at one of our maintenence service providers. I usually end my emails with "Regards," but this time I had typoed it to "*******,". I had already clicked down the button to send and then I noticed the mistake so I had to slide the cursor off the button. It would have been classic. You should also know that we hate the service provider in question and they hate us too.

Ever notice how perfectly designed the QWERTY key layout is to wonderful typos? Me thinks there is a practical joker somewhere in history, and we are STILL writing the jokes.

It's all going to blow up during the time trial. No matter what happens this Tour will go down as one for the ages.
BTW you left out Cavit8 from the Jet gathering.
I wish that there was still a team time trial in this year's tour, the individual ones will still be awesome though

I wonder if Floyd will be in the starthouse on time for the time trial....and have a properly functioning bike. :D If he has another torn tire or busted aero bars I am gonna apply to be the Phonak mechanic.

When they changed the rule and made it so you could only lose 3 minutes it made the Team T.T. inconsequential anyhow. If they were gonna do that again I would rather not have it. It is great to watch tho.

Mike.....dude....I love ya but it boggles my mind how you can be wrench and be several days behind the coverage. It would drive me bonkers not knowing what was going on. I don't even need to watch it. I'm buyin' the DVD just to have yesterdays stage, and maybe a Phonak jersey (word to Shizy)

Come to think of it I changed my own flat, not that I minded. Finding a wrench you can trust is a tall order. Ah to each his own, I couldn't watch it when all the riders were already on vacation.
Wow just heard on eurosprorts.com... Jan Ulrich has been fired by Team Mobile.

The **** man, I just tighten every nut I can find on a bike w/ an adjustable wrench until the edges round off. I figure it's solid at that point and **** ain't goin' nowhere. Seems to work fairly well.
