Them hipsters can have it all....hands off the Man in Black, and Patsy Cline though.
The punks will eat you for lunch.
I'm confused about hipster culture.... I must admit.
I'm usually pretty good subculture wise, having been in several.
What makes hipsters hipsters?

Is it the colour or something else? They are nice but they are race tires so I wouldn't count on a tonne o mileage out of em. The pro's cut kinda easy so watch out for the glass.

yeah... ok.. I think I'm going to put the other one on the front and see how I feel tomorrow.

it makes me feel like a delicate flower.. a hairy delicate flower.. *titter*

also, I seem to only have 1 (nearly through the tire) skid patch on the rubino pro that was on there. What's up with that? I thought 46x16 == 8 patches (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v41/iamjacobpriest/FixedRatio.jpg)

I think i could relate to that after several brown bottles of wobbly juice when it’s getting late ha not good for the back tire.

Hmm that chart shows i have 1 skid patch (48-16) but so far so good no patches yet just a matter of time i guess.

The tires you have on are new right? And that chart shows you should have 8 spots, but you got 1 big one.
Lesson we should stop buying the flashy tires & get some durable ones?
Who the hell knows?
Cheers

Hey Toronto Fixers,

I'm leaving the land of steep hills and poutine for greener pastures, professionally. I'm moving to your city by Oct 1st, and therefore looking for a shared apartment. If you know anyone who's looking for a roomie I'd appreciate a bit of help. I'm looking for a *relatively* bike friendly space, as I'd like to bring my track bike inside.

To let you in (and now all of BFs) on my situation, I'll be moonlighting, working part-time as a sommelier and pursuing an internship at a social marketing agency that deals primarily with NGO's. I'm in my late twenties, socially concious, and non-veg, but eat healthy. I'm a neat and respectful roomie.

I'm looking for something within a close radius to U of T, Queen W, the Annex and Kensington Market (or so my friends have recommended). I'd like to live pretty central, as I'm new to the city. I don't plan on bringing a ton of stuff, as in extra wheels, bike parts, and tools. As for partying, I don't drink very much, and have outgrown the hard-partying messenger scene. I'm also allergic to dogs and cats, and am not too keen on living in a basement apt/room.

I've been surfing around on CL, but I just though I'd post here as it'd be nice to live with people who know what's up. I'm looking for some like minded individuals, male or female, down with bikes and enjoying life. If you know anyone out there looking for a roomie for Oct 1st, please tell them to drop me a line at *****dpendon*** awithacircle ****** gmail**** dotcom

Thanks a ton,
and see you all soon!

Does this mean that all our locks are now vunlerable again a la the kryptonite pen fiasco? Guess we have to buy $125 Abloy padlocks for our krypto chains now. Just great.

yeah, that technique has been around for a long time. the scary thing is that it works on basically all locks.

btw. the forecast for today has improved slightly. only a 30% chance of / isolated showers for the evening now.

"meat pylon".. gold.

edit: ps. I think this cheapo Serfas tire is about twice as grippy as my rubino pro. I tried to skip to slow down in front of my building and didn't break loose at all.. surprising. :P Of course, it's also brand new vs. the well (ab)used rubino.

Hi,

I am looking for help in locating a set of (no, seriously) dust caps.
For a campy record high-flange track hub, to be exact.
It's a beauty, spins like a dream, etc., etc., my first campy hub.

I've rummaged through a box of parts here at the local coop, and can probably make something fit with a bit of force, but that would surely anger campy karma gods :)

Does this mean that all our locks are now vunlerable again a la the kryptonite pen fiasco? Guess we have to buy $125 Abloy padlocks for our krypto chains now. Just great.

I think the new disc style locks are not venerable to the bump key attack. No pins.

Disc locks are immune to bump keys. They are one of the greatest inventions ever though. I don't know what highschool would have been like without "full access"

I'm not sure that there was anything at my high school that I didn't have access to, that I would have wanted to have had access to. Unless I was into stealing stuff of course... Are we going to start seeing businesses that lock up their doors with a new style U lock between the door handles?

Oh for me in high school it was the roof, the lighting rigs over the stage where we used to play poker and euchre, student council lounge with a pullout bed and being able to pull off good pranks.

I mean its not like I was learning anything...

People still coming out to CM if the rain lets up?

I am, because my renter backed out :( What $ are we looking at about?

<- goes to UT so place close = perfect

Well, from what I've seen and read, $600 seems to be the running for a decent room in a decent, non-basement flat. But any cheaper, in a decent place I'd be alright with. I'll be visiting TO from sept 3-5 to check out apts and jobs.

Yes, I was the organizer of the NACCC 04 Hvy Mtl alleycat. Hope those of you who rode it, loved it.
As for framebuilding, after a feverish stint over the past spring/summer, I'm shelving it for the time being. I'm putting my setup in storage until a later date, when I can set it up in a space in Toronto.

Thanks Crew,

Dave
