Stupid weather ... mocking me ... oh well, that will get sorted out soon enough.

i'll... actually be driving. (please don't stone me.)
unless someone wants to lend me a beater bike, or just a wheelset to ride on tomorrow :D
I'll be picking stuff up from urbane.

darkmo, do you roast your own beans? a buddy of mine introduced me to home roasting recently.. it's pretty fun and yields a great batch of beans. for small batches, we used a pan roaster over a gas stove. he's got a pretty big roaster for large batches but says a regular hot air popcorn maker does a great job too. your kitchen'll smell great afterwards too!

I've wanted to do that for a while, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Freshly roasted beans are the secret to good coffee. I'll have to troll the value villages for a hot air popper-sounds like that would be the easiest way.

yeah, I've been wanting to do that for a while too. I need to get a new coffee maker as well. I've only been drinking espresso at home lately (I've got a couple different sizes of stovetop espresso makers), and my only other option is a Bodum french press. Makes good coffee, but it doesn't help if I need/want more than one cup. :)

I've heard good stuff about Dark City Coffee too, especially for freshness. But I've never bought any for myself.

Damnit.. I want to go riding in this weather! Not only am I stuck at work, but I'm having dinner with friends so I stupidly took the subway this morning. I wish I could even just dink around for an hour after work. Oh well!

Edit: I can't read. I'll be down for Sat. Where are we going for lunch and are we biking..?

Moonbean?! That's way to far! Pick some place closer to my apartment ... that place has got to be at least 30 feet away from where I live.

PS. Okay, I'm cancelling tonight (gotta take care of the missus) and I'll see you all at the Moonbean tomorrow at noon.

i picked up a stovetop espresso maker for pretty cheap awhile ago but noticed the o-ring had dried out. does anyone know where to get replacement rings? i've checked department stores and the coffee supply shops at st.lawrence but nuthin'. you should get a larger bodum.. they come in a lot of sizes. i've got a single-serving press myself... i find that the filters aren't that great for espresso on the bodums. i think they're better suited to a coarser grind.
ok, so to fulfil the bike quota part of this post.... rode to kensington for lunch, picked up some empanadas ($2.50 each and they've got a HUGE selection).. then rode to cavern and it was closed! a sign on the door said they close early due to illness but will be open on saturday. holy smoke it was warm.

There's a stinkload of places in my area. Down around Oakwood and Davenportish.

I have a crappy coffee grinder and generally grind my own regular coffee.. I buy ground espresso though because I can't get a consistent and fine grind with my little $20 doodad. :P

And as for a place to buy a new o-ring, I really like this one kitchen shop on Yonge Street (West Side), just North of Bloor (between Yorkville and Cumberland). The prices are great and the old guy who works there is super helpful. He actually mentioned to me about replacement o-rings when I bought my 3-shot one a couple weeks ago.

SHIZNIT!
ALERT:
damn, I woke up at 7 this morning to steal the fam. car.
I got it and after eating some mcdonalds.
I remembered I didn't have a map of the downtown area.
So... I took my chances to sneak back home to pickup the map.
To cut the story short, I woke up my parents and I'm grounded at home.
damn.
Its only 10 rite now.
I may still have time to try to sneak out and take the TTC.

Sorry guys.
Hope you have fun.

It's been a great weekend for cycling, did you guys meet up at the bun shop? I haven't been riding fixed much lately, I am putting my new road bike through the paces lately and it is wicked so far. I hope everyone got out for a few hours of cycling this weekend, cheers ;)

yeah, we all met up at Moonbeam yesterday and then 4 of us went to Kim Moon for some buns. Good times.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. We should definitely do this semi-regularly! Maybe another time we could get together in an evening for some drinkage... and I also think it'd be cool in the Summer to get together every now and then for some drinkin' in the park, badass teenager style. :P There's lots of great places for that.. I'm partial to Bickford park at Harbord and Grace.

blargh.. I have to stop fantisizing about the Summer in January. :)

hey shiznaz.. what CK headset were you looking for? I'm talking to my employed-by-chrisking friend right now. I told her a 1" GripNut in Black. I think you said you needed a 1" threaded.. wasn't sure about the color, but she asked. :)

She said:
yeah GN and 2nuts in 1" we really only have black & silver regularly otherwise it would take longer to get
we have green and pewter i think in 2nuts.. i cant remember

I got Sure E2Cs and had HD600s (till i sold it off to finace the bike)
I was going to go to the meet in Windsor in the summer but didn't have my G2 then. boo.
I got some PCB's of the millet hybrid and Gmoy i've been meaning to build up.
(if you could help me that'd be cool, cause I don't know how to read schematics)
on WOAH! OPERATOR! you don't happen to be the dude who built up that heavily modded tube amp with caps the size of pop cans.. what's his name... Aerius?

ZOMG, man... i got a f-king parking ticket on sat. I put in 50 cents to the meter cause I didn't have any other change around.
That fifty cents covered me for like.. 15 mintues.. but I stayed for over 3 hours.
btw, can anyone tell me how to pay it off?
I really can't have my parents know... (they don't even know I can drive highway...so if they ever found out I got a ticket downtown they'll snap)

Oi! on the talk of ordering CK headsets! hook me up with a 1" threaded set and as for colors surprise me. haha... man, I don't even know the diameter of that ring at the base of the fork, I gotta check that. btw, whatsit called?

Blasting down to the bottom of Yonge is always a thrill though.

Speak up if you're a headphone geek.

Guilty. I've got some shure E2C's and they are great. You can actually hear the music while you ride-it's pretty much like being in a car.

I have a set of Sony MDR-V200's (I think) that I've had for about 10 years, and a set of Panasonic in-ear headphones. The sony's are alright.. bass heavy. Definitely far from accurate! The Panasonic's are pretty well the opposite.. I bought them over Sony's in-ear phones because I did a bunch of research and they're supposedly more accurate. I'm not sure if that's really what I want anymore though.. a little extra kick in the low end would be nice sometimes. I still like them for around-town headphones though, especially for the price! :D

I've been shopping for a set of proper studio phones for a while though for my musical dabblings, but I've never gotten around to it. I've used the Sony V7506 in a few different places and found them comfortable, but I've never A/B'ed them with anything else.

ps. I can't ride with in-ear headphones. I need my hearing! :)

The Sony Studio Series kick butt. Use 'em fot the MP3 player then goto the studio with them.
