"Still got your Malibu?"
"Aw, man. You know what some fu*cker did the other day?"
"What?"
"Fu*cking keyed it."
"Oh, man, that's fu*cked up."
"Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some dickless piece of sh*t fu*cked with it."
"They should be fu*cking killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution."
"Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that a*shole doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it."
"What a fu*cker!"
"What's more chickensh*t than fu*cking with a man's automobile? I mean, don't fu*ck with another man's vehicle."
"You don't do it."
"It's just against the rules."
There you have it

Heheheh, if someone keyed my car I would be put out but if someone fukced with my Ciocc or GT or Roubaix, I would be very very pissed and if I caught them at it, yeah, I'd go all Travolta on their ass.

I'm not a big guy but I don't seem to have as much of a problem when I do have confrontations. I just steal their thunder and escalate first. While a lot of people are willing to threaten violence social pressures, especially in confrontational situations, will often prevent people from actually taking that step. So as soon as they start escalating an encounter I'll take it right to the edge of violence and stand there. If they make the next move and actually get violent I make sure I'll be in a self-defense position. I learned it while stealing girls away from dumb jock guys, you let them work the girl up and then you walk in and bully them into giving you the girl. Once or twice I've had punches thrown at me but I can handle that OK, and I'm always the person who gets to say "I was just talking when he decided to throw a punch" Stealing the frame is the psychological key. Oh and Shiz put me down for a mega horn as well, that'll certainly wake up the people parked in bike lanes.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean; Someone confronts you and you immediately escalate the situation to the point of fighting? Theres really nothing to be gained from getting in a punch-up with a motorist... especially if you are trying to goad them and encourage them to fight with you.
I gotta give you some cred though if you bully bullies into giving you their girlfriends. Sounds like you're the bully!

Its not taking it to a fight. Its knowing that if you escalate the situation to having two choice: getting into a fight or leaving 99% of the time someone will leave. Its exactly what the guys in cars are doing to you guys most of the time, I'm just reversing the situation so I'm the aggressor. I'm the one whose forcing him away. I learned it after watching what jock bullies used to do to me to get me to back down, now I do it to them. Psychology is great that way, were all programmed by society to react in certain ways most of the time so if you can take control of the situation and become the winner it doesn't matter where you started.
Read The Game by Neil Strauss you'll get more woman then you can dream of and learn this and more. Mystery and Style taught the 18 year old me more about life in 3 weeks then I had learned up to that point.

This sounds like Eddie Murphy's old schtick of how he avoided fights....get real quiet, bug out your eyes and stare at the guy. He will eventually think you are crazy and be too afraid of your crazyiness to fight you.

I don't let myself get intimidated. The guy in the prelude on saturday didn't scare me at all; he was trying to intimidate me, but he just pissed me off like crazy. Just because I wasn't the one taking steps to act like an as*hole doesn't mean he scared me at all. What does intimidate me is people not paying attention to me on the road, and in that case aggression doesn't mean anything and would be counterproductive in almost all cases.
When people get in my face I just stand up nice and tall, look down at them and take the moral high road. So far zero fights in my life so its been working admirably. Every time I act aggressively towards other people I end up ruining my day because it puts me in a terrible mood.

Not only is it not bad, its good!
I don't know what I'd do without the ourys slid up to the stem on my bullhorns. So comfy and grippy. Done properly it can look pretty cool too, but it looks pretty dumb unless they are next to the stem.
http://velospace.org/files/cyclops2.jpg
http://velospace.org/files/fuji2.jpg
And I didn't even do it properly either. The ourys tend to twist over time but I don't really care as those yellow bars are on my beater now. The blue/black bars were unfortunately thrown away by my landlord the same day we moved out. D'oh, they were so narrow too! Lost the stem, frame, fork and headset as well, although the HS was shot anyways, and the fork was bent and the frame too flexy.

Considering the the sexy beast now has fenders, 2 brakes (well, it is a s/s) and flipped chopped off drops I wasn't really concerned about the aethetics.

Once I get it all together I'll post it in it's new incarnation. Should look good, black rims and tires, new (well from Keiths dollar bin) zero rise stem. And got some nice poppy red rust paint to touch up the dings from the mean people who owner her. Really liking this frame. Next up is to get a fixed hub that can matchup with the cranks to get a good chain line. Soon but not soon enough.
And can anyone help me and tell me how to post a full size photo? I tried and all I ever get are the little thumbnails.

Great question I’ve yet to figure this out. But apparently it can be done via flickr I’ve only been able to get thumbs as well!
Also it’s great to put a bunch of stuff together & get something that works.

you building your wheelset?
btw, its the BB that gets you a good chainline. you can run essentially any fixed hub/crank as long you have the correct BB spindle length.
and I keep all my photos on photobucket.
I can get pretty decently good sized photos to show up on BF.

Darkmother, wanna order a couple of these and split the shipping? http://www.bikepartsusa.com/product_info.asp?f_b=Megalert&cp=1&p=01-170019
($9USD S&H for one, $10.50 S&H for two or three, and then it goes up by one USD each extra 2 units)
It is 105db, small, easy to mount, thumb switch, takes regular batteries
Airzound is apparently 115db, but way bigger and more of a pain to mount.
PS. What a ******!

Awww..
At least you had brought your fender.
I woke up this morning.. looked outside.. thought "it's going to rain", then continued to leave my apartment without my fender. Of course the second I'm outside it begins spitting.. and after work it was just a soppy mess..
I had to do the 10km/h ride all the way home and I still got juicy.
The only good thing about the rain and bikes is that your drivetrain is ultra smooth.

Not if your rear hub shell is narrow like mine. Even with the all the spacers on one side it's not enough. And there's nothing I can do crankside anymore. Also I need straight profile cranks.

I have the shortest spindle I can get in the bb now. It's an old MTB I want to fix. I need a 135 hub I believe. My axiom hub I am using now has a perfect chainline and I assume that a fixed hub the same size will match up chain wise.
No, not building my own wheel. My mechanical abilities end about there. It is on the agenda though. Will try to have Keith do it.

I bought the smallest one at Cavern that would fit w/out the crainring hitting the chainstays. It's a 42 front on the outer ring with a few mm to go before grinding the chainstay. The crank and bb in give it a perfect line with the hub on now. I have a thread on cog on the freewhell part of the hub and need to find a fix hub the same width. Thanks though for the thought.

i would think a fixed hub built around a 135mm spaced rear would be the best bet; i believe that would give you a 52mm chainline as opposed to a 42 as per normal track hub specs. i forget who makes one (phil of course, surly, who else?). check 63xc.com for more of the fixed off road stuff.
as a side note, pyze: i managed to crack my 9" henkels pro about 1/2 way through the blade today (at least i noticed it today). what the hell!? it's a $140 blade! you ever cracked a knife like that?

I like fenders and I like the wood ones but they are pretty pricey; Curbside has them and I remember thinking they were very expensive, like close to 100$ or something crazy like that. I've always wondered about moustache bars and I think I will outfit them on the new ride, but more like this:
