I hate Suzue hubs
races quickly grinding down
bearings to follow

I'm certainly hoping that the spin I experienced this morning was traction-less spin instead of stripping of hub by cog spin... otherwise I'll have to revise the haiku

And TJ, the Elvish link is here http://toronto.craigslist.org/bik/242572205.html

ps. I still can't believe you covered your Spicer in stickers. :P

I dunno, I think it looks cool, protects the frame, makes it less stealable, and finally gave me a chance to use all those stickers I had.

If I want to sell the bike I can take off the stickers... I'm more worried about what people will think about how my dropouts look. Big beefy powder coated aluminum dropouts look gnarly after about 2 wheel changes.

So an off duty police officer is being charged with a DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after hitting a cyclist on Saturday. He's been suspended pending the charges, gotta love the cops.

Edit: I come back to my guy winning the lib leadership (go dion go) and cold. Cold sucks, that is all.

someone here should pick up that Elvish, we can have an Elvish crew :D

oh man, riding home in the Dundas bike lane today I almost died, there was a big section completely covered in ice, I could feel myself slowly sliding sideways as I rode over it, and as soon as I was about to fall over I hit dry pavement again and regained traction.

I was going about 40-45km/h at the time :o

Lymbzero: when do you wanna meet up so I can toss you some cash.

Yeah, he has been trying to sell that for ages now. He was asking $500 about 2 months ago and then it was up on eBay with no bids and now it is back on CL for $396; it is a beauty but I think that without a fork, he really needs to ask for less money.

He came by the shop w/ it ages ago. It's a nice frame, but it's entry level Columbus tubing.

Yeah, that was my guess as well. Maybe it will go on eBay in the spring for 250$USD or so but without a fork it is a real hard sell.

He's in a tricky situation. He paid too much for it (and he knows it) so he's just trying to recuperate his "losses." It's not a situation where he's trying to make a tidy profit. If someone's interested, you might want to contact him and see if he actually has the fork, or if he'd be interested in a deal that involved less money but some extra parts/etc. traded along w/ the cash.

The surf was pretty good, Friday and Saturday the waves were delicious and thankfully sunday was super windy so I did some kite surfing and packed it in. Unfortunately while the sets were well spaced off the point they stayed under the 15 foot mark where the tubes get gnarly and such.

But girls in bikini, beers and bonfires and safety meetings on the water make up for that. Plus I'm going big wave surfing soon anyways so the carving was fun.

Yeah I'm looking at that Jamis but that green would have to go.

Hey all,

I've been lurking around off and on for a couple of weeks now - in between grueling stretches of coding additions to the interslice - and just wanted to say, yo.

I noticed there are a bunch of people who like to hook up and tear it up around the city. I'd like to get in on some of that action when next you ride, if that's cool. I'm also down for some serious swilling of various ales and spirits (and teas) as well as any other general mischeif that may occur.

That is all. Hope to see you's out and about!

I think $350 for that Jamis frame/fork is a bit much, you can do better. Get a carbon cross fork from Nashbar or eBay for 60$USD and pop it on an old road frame while you are waiting for the perfect frame.

You, Mr. Jammer, rock hard thank you. Big wave to me is beyond 25 feet, biggest I've done was pull ins on 30-35 footers. But I don't do anything I can paddle into anymore so 25 feet is about as big as it gets for me these days.

For big wave I'm all about cali, would love to do Hawaii but its to expensive to get there and the locals are annoying.

sending my brother to family functions will usually suffice but not this time. maybe i'll stop into SP if i get back before four. nice shop, that's where i bought my tiny UTW bag. Speaking of which: does anyone know if you can by an insert or some such thing for a messenger bag that would protect my camera (and make it easy to take in / out)? i know crumpler makes some but i don't want to buy a whole new satchel...

sending my brother to family functions will usually suffice but not this time. maybe i'll stop into SP if i get back before four. nice shop, that's where i bought my tiny UTW bag. Speaking of which: does anyone know if you can by an insert or some such thing for a messenger bag that would protect my camera (and make it easy to take in / out)? i know crumpler makes some but i don't want to buy a whole new satchel...
Send an e-mail to Anais at UTW. I am sure she would be happy to make something for that purpose.

Played 4 aside last night with 1 sub each. Long slow ride home after that one.

i'd suggest going to a camera supply store and buying some of the high density foam sheets you can get for older cases/pelican cases. The kind you can carve out any shape you like. Just shape for your camera, secure in bag and your done.

Yeah....I wanted to come but gave my knee a bit of a tweak the other day and didnt want to risk it....especially with the chippy play that has been going on for the last few weeks.
