Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I needs me some vegetarian pasta (sauce) recipes. I've always just used bottled sauce and added extras but I'm getting really really really really sick of that. :P But pasta is just damned convenient to make after a long day. The only thing I make from scratch is basil pesto and aglio e olio (which isn't too tough!).

Making stuff from scratch is the best.

Here's where I learned how to make pasta sauce.

Daft Punk's "Revolution 909"

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ulo_IPArg_A
The second video is Daft Punk's "Burning"

Fun to watch. Why doesn't daft punk still produce this sound!

Totally Cool. 400 frames! I love how the first video has the credits after the 20 seconds. I was like "WTF it's oveR!?!" then "the making of" was even cooler. I like how the only constant in that was the motion of the backdrop.

You're very creative.

Daft punk is awesome. Its a shame their sound and videos went all 'anime' all of a sudden. They used to have this lo-fi ambience and, for lack of a better term, ennui (In the grand Beaudelairian sense) that I love, and I think made them kind of contemporary version of Kraftwerk. People have tried to copy Kraftwerk's sound and its never worked, but I think Daft Punk had alot of their spirit.

The daft punk live show is a sight to behold. They don't show their faces or speak in public performances so when I saw them they had these insane suits that let them type out messages on a LED banner where there eyes seemed to be. Very strange. I like the newer daft punk along with the older stuff, it got more euro-dancy but it still has a nice groove. Not the same as the amazing drum machine loops off of Homework but still cool.

My favourite thing about daft punk is after producing a number of incredibly odd videos MTV basically told them to release something more normal for "around the world" or they wouldn't play the song. Daft Punk decided to make the most boring video they could muster and because the song was such a hit MTV had to play it anyway, so here's to 6 minutes of dancing skeletons.

edit: same suits as what they are wearing in the video Jet posted

Thats how they always dress. I saw a ******** interview with them where the only things they 'said' were what was preprogrammed into their eye display thingies. I did not learn much about them that interview, but it was kind of cute I guess!

I should listen to some Underworld; I've always liked them for the same reasons as Daft Punk.

Same thing here. 60 is just about right for me too. Stuck seatpost and stem isn't that big of a problem if you are willing to commit to removing them. Sometimes you gotta get a little crazy....

Shiznaz
12-07-06, 01:58 PM
I got a stem off of a bike carcas on the street once. I used a large pipe wrench, a chainlink fence, the sidewalk and a large dolomitic rock to free it. Seatposts sound really fun because of the 0 leverage situation. Easiest solution may be to just drill a hole through the post, stick a few feet rebar through it and twist it off. At least that seems like it would be the most fun way to do it.

lymbzero
12-07-06, 02:13 PM
The Bottechia.

I got the stem out already.

But the seatpost just needs a little "effort".
This is effort that I don't feel like producing since I'd need a ladder to get on the bike if it was complete.
A little heat would probably do it.

To tell you the truth, it's not even that nice. The BB shell is welded really ass.
The seam is all sloppy. But then again, maybe all BB's were ass welded in the 60's.
BTW. .it's an ITalian BB 70mm.

I'll take some pics tonight. See if you guys really want it.
I'd like to give it to a REALLY TALL person. Cuz that's what it's for.

If you three are tall then you can flip a three sided coin to see who gets it.

Here's my quarterly check in...I know it's been a long time.

Another horse in the crew. Just finished up an SS (soon to be fixed) Fetish Fixation Mountain bike. Made to be used as my winter/snow beater, as well as rigid fixed MTB in the spring. Don't want to ride my pimped Steamroller in the salts.

Mines the one with cmcd preceding it. I'm not all that hard up to get it as I also have a 58cm Raleigh I can convert to a winter beater. If someone has a more noble fate in mind than a winter beater, I'd let it go to that someone else.

Gettin' your spin on? Nasty looking ride!

Spinning for sure. I took it down Spedina today to China Town, and I was really spinning, but on the way back up with the wind, I was glad it was geared lower, what with the fat tires and all. I'm looking forward to fixing it. That should be awesome. Anyone else done any fixed MTB?

I was thinking about doing this, lacing some 26" rims to miche hubs..
MTB 26" fixed would kind of be fun.

Gearing it super low for Fixed trials..
