Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

No!

Almost Operator but not quite, a complete sentence requires a subject and a predicate.

I got a cool stainless steel thermos from st. lawrence market today. I got one that fits in my bottle cage for early morning and cold rides, plus it also looks classy on my desk keeping my americano warm. It was 19 bucks, its a foot in height and holds 750ml (for when I want to get REALLY wired!)

what brand is it? i got one a while ago that fits in my bottle cage and has a flip top so i can drink it one handed on the go. perhaps it's the same one. if it is your coffee will stay hot even after riding to work in -20 weather.

Its a no-name one, and it hasn't got a flip top, so drinking on the fly will be tougher, but I don't really mind so much. With 750ml capacity its more like coffee for 2, which is really what I plan anyways, since I will be touring with my buddy this summer. We can just pull over every now and then and have a nice cup each by the roadside.

I'm considering getting one of the camping espresso makers and grinders from MEC for the trip as a 'spoil myself creature comfort' thing

400 odd grams worth of coffee creating goodness. My friend already has a cool MSR stove.

Last couple of days for the big sale at Curbside Cycle (where I work). Come monday we are getting rid off all the helmets and 2006 Bikes.

Bikes: ALL 2006 Bikes at wholesale
Helmets: All 2006 helmets 50% off

Just a shout out to anyone who wants to get a helmet or bike at the same price I could get it at. Or just come in on the weekend for a chat.

I know it looks like a commercial, but it's really just a friendly reminder of some sweet deals.

We stopped offering the free reach-arounds because people took advantage of the "Unlimited Reach-Arounds for one year with purchase of bike" deal. There are only so many reach-arounds you can give per day before it becomes un-profitable.

Its just espresso with water mixed in... pretty simple as far as fancy coffee goes.

espresso topped with hot water. from what i have been told it came about in italy during WWII when american soldiers not used to the strong espresso would order it with more water and so it was dubbed americano. either way it's tasty.

I'm up for it. Its too damn warm to stay inside. What time are you thinking of? I get off work at around 6pm. We could meet up at jet fuel or the like and then head onwards. If we are doing the spit though I'd prefer to go home first to pick up my cross bike.

No ride for me tonight. It's my anniversary so I'm hanging out with the missus (going to the Gardiner Museum and then JK's restaurant there). I'm still recovering from a chest/head cold as well, so it's probably for the best.

I think I'm starting to grow into this sociopath label. Society sucks anyways, might as well stick it to it when possible. After going to Dubai I think its safe to say that it is the pinnacle of our civilization experiment, and after that we will either have an exodus into space, or go back to nomadic tribes of hunter-gatherers.

hmmm... all my bosses have left work. I'm leaving. I might as well go home and grab a bike and make sure everything is safe. see you guys at jet fuel.

I emailed the website about the Six Day Race film a while ago about availability and I just got this email today (did that sentence even make sense? I'm really tired right now and I can't tell.):

"The Six-Day Bicycle Race DVD is now available at http://
www.sixdaybicyclerace.com (http://www.sixdaybicyclerace.com). Please go to "The Movie" and click on buy
now. There are some great additional materials including 40 minutes
of interview with Sammy Gastman and a comedy short from the 1030's
called the "Six-Day Grind"

We hope you enjoy this film...we had a great time making it.

Thanks for your interest and patience waiting for the film.

Mark Tyson"

Woohoo I'm ordering my copy right now. This is so awesome I can't wait!

P.S. I'm pretty sure when the dude wrote "1030's" what he meant to write was "1930's". But then again what do I know. Were bikes even invented at that time? I think not.

Does anyone else have trouble making posts on this forum? It always asks me to sign in again, but then I hit refresh and then i'm signed in again. My posts disappear ALL the time too, I always highlight them and copy now, because its really friggen annoying. Am I the only one this happens to or is this like something everyone knows about except me and its been discussed like a million times or something?

Not lately. The forum can be pretty twitchy though. What are you using for an OS/browser?

Dude. I totally know the guy in that picture.

That actually happened to me at work yesterday.. xp + firefox there (osx + safari at home). Same set up I use all the time, so I'm not sure why I was having trouble all of a sudden. Stupid computers. :P
