Today I ate hard salty sidewalk $h1T while riding my bike to work. I passed a couple of pedestrians and opted to go in between a planter and light post. There was a small (like 4") mound of snow directly in my path. The funboi in me said.. "jump it." So I listened. The result was a no-style feeble bit of air. I landed on a patch of ice, slid out and smashed my knee on the hard cement.

I'll never learn.

Ugh. Have to write an exam tonight. Politics of Public Policy and Public Finance. I love these stupid crosslisted Pol Sci class taught by economists. Esp my prof who always asks questions starting with "When you apply for a job as an ecomomist with the U.N...." Guy I'm a frigging chef and teacher. I'm never applying to the U.N. Ask something that normal people can understand. Or his replies to answers he deems too simple "That's how my grammy would explain it" I almost threw my helmet at him for that one. If I want to be insulted I'll just post in the roadie forum.

After some deep breaths.....I too dig the $4000 bike. Almost tempted to offer $20 and a slinky.

couldn't you buy an actual motorbike for that price?

I agree. I mean it's likely worth $3500 (It is a Harley), but $4000? Come on. That's just silly.

I mean I could buy like four Cadillac Bikes for that price. http://www.cadillacbicycles.com/ca_index.html

Parking Lot safety?

I think there are 10ish spots per class. Or at least, Keith was saying with around 10 people we could probably have a class to ourselves. That would be awesome if we did get it to ourselves! And your right about the parking lot... I'll bring some uh pylons :D

Those dogs look so happy! Tails all a-wagging, tounges hanging out in a doggy smile...

Speaking of broken English, if you have too much time on your hands, try translating something into Korean, using the Altavista translator. Then, copy and paste the message (which will probably come out as total jibberish unless you have Korean text recognition on your computer) back into the translation box and translate it back into English. The results are really funny/creepy/strangely ominous.

For example:

Hi my name is Dan and I am a dog waterskiing enthusiast. I am going to translate this message using the Altavista babelfish translator. The idea is to show how 'wack' this Korean translation shiznit is.

Becomes this:

Goodbye name of B the Dan and I sleep and dog waterskiing excitement. I use a Altavistababelfish interpretation and in order to translate this message i am going. The idea as peels and 'wack' this Korean translation shiznit it is visible and.

Am I the only one that finds this incredibly amusing??

Here's the link: http://babelfish.altavista.com/

hey guys, kind off topic, but I just built a website for my bike club and I'd like you to ctitique/suggest/find dead links or any comment on anything that strikes (or doesn't strike) you about it. BTW, this is my first time ever dealing with computer language.

PS. Im not fishing for compliments, but rather ways to improve it.

only the 2006 photo links work. 2002 - 2005 links take you to a list of 2007 events.

Using Firefox and IE:

images are stretched horizontally a bit. make sure they stay in the right proportions.

The images are also not sitting in their tables properly

Your header repeats at higher resolutions

Your font is a little questionable.

I think you should switch the latest news and 2007 activities columns with each other.

The Latest News column continues off the page.

That Google Calendar looks craptastic in firefox, but nice in IE

Maybe put a small nav bar at the bottom of the page, and copyright information.

These are all just tiny little details that I mention only because you asked. Otherwise it looks and navigates great! Nice work!

BTW, this is my first time ever dealing with computer language.

For someone's first time dealing with "computer language", your markup and CSS skills are amazingly excellent.

HA j/k, it's obviously a pre-made CMS (content management system). You get zero points.

On the constructive side.
I'd say you need to clean up the header, by uploading a higher res. image.
Also the italic titles don't do it for me.

I'll be doing a wheel building clinic at Bike Chain next thursday if anyone is interested. I've built them before, but I've never told people how to do it, so we'll see how that goes.

Fixed gear content: I'll probably be building a Miche Track hub to an Open pro with DT spokes.

Fixed gear content: I'll probably be building a Miche Track hub to an Open pro with DT spokes.

I'm so bad with dates but thats the 15th right? If so I'll be there with bells on.

Not really.

thanks for the comments, Shiznaz and lymbzero. I'll try to incorporate those suggestions.
Shiz: got a better font suggestion? The one I have now is quite plain.

I hope so, I don't want to fire off a 3rd email to this guy changing the registration from me. Would make me look like this guy.

ipod users help me. I found a 30G ipod on the road last week and no one has claimed it. So questions abound.
I need to get a charger for it, one I can plug into my computer. Would future shop be a good place to look, or go to the apple store nearest me?

Next, once I get it plugged into my machine, to load music on it do I need to use itunes, or can I copy files from my machine straight to it? The settings on the machine are for windows, I checked before the battery died.

When it comes to apple products and ipods I am out of the loop so to speak.

So funny because it's true. I wish it was on garde manger thoery. Not quite how to make a salad 101 but still, much funner than what I wrote tonight.

I can't beleive I typed much funner. Sound like the spiderman package from today.

more like pate/fois gras 101. i have since developed a mild dislike for terrines; something about cold mushrooms, cream and aspic just don't do it for me.
